Remington 870, 12 ga., "Special Purpose Deer" model that I got brand new in 1987. Over the years the receiver got drilled & tapped for a Weaver rail, it got a fully rifled barrel in 2001, and a trigger job 5 or 6 years ago. Filled a lot of deer tags over the years and before I got a dedicated turkey gun it did a few years as a turkey gun by swapping to a full choke barrel. Still my one and only slug gun for shotgun areas. IMG_1636.JPG

One is a beater, trade-in 870 police magnum I got for $190, and the other is an 870 police marine magnum which is a nickeled police magnum unlike a standard marine magnum. It was released through Lipsey's or Davidson's (I can't recall which). It used to be my patrol shotgun, but it's climbed too much in value to be carried in a trunk so I replaced it.

Time for me to make another contribution to this interesting thread. An old Stevens 820B in 12 ga.. They were made from 1949 to 1954 according to my research. Not a high end shotgun by any means, just a budget priced pump shotgun. This one functions good but the bluing is getting thin on the barrel where it had just begun to get some light surface rust after being neglected from about 1962 until 1997 when I acquired it. Wiped it down with some rags soaked with WD-40 and it cleaned up but the bluing was already very thin. Now that I'm downsizing the guns this one may be headed to a local auctioneer that occasionally does gun & hunting type auctions. It works good but I already have several other 12 ga. pumps and need room in the gun safes. IMG_2945.JPG .. IMG_2943.JPG ..

Here are a few favorites of mine.
-1959 Model 12 that I cut the barrel down on and installed a new bead. Copperhead was taken with the Model 12 last Saturday by our gate. Thankfully it was me walking through the gate and not my kids.
