Watching "Training Day" on DVD, I noticed a Mossberg 500 w/pistol grip and what appeared to be a pistol-gripped Mossberg 590 in some of the scenes.

In "Terminator" of course, Arnie had his SPAS 12 and Reese had his stolen LAPD Ithaca with sawed-off stock.

In "Platoon Leader" (a low-budget '80's Vietnam flick), Roach had his Winchester Model 12 (IIRC) that he inflicted havoc with.

Off the top of my head, I can't recall any movies that prominently featured the Remington 870, although there must have been a few. Thoughts?

well, it's not an 870, but *no* movie shotgun discussion is complete without a certain cobalt blue and walnut, 12 guage, double barrel remington retailing for about $109.95...

(or the levergun from t2)

The Mummy movies have some neat SG's. Both Winchester's, 1897 & 1896(lever) I think.

The lever action Winchester 1887 used in The Mummy Returns is the same gun used in T2.

i believe stallone uses an 870 at the end of "Cop Land". i'm not positive, but i think the Rock uses one in "Rundown" as well.

Val Kilmer in "Spartan." (Watch closely for extra cycling action sans sound.)

"Narc" had a few nice Mossy's in it. As well as a handfull of revolvers, a Beretta "stainless" and a nice HP.

I just watched the Bourne Identity last night, and I have to say it was a great movie.
Bourne gets holed up in a farm house by a sniper with one of those Sig55x sniper rifles, and Bourne gets the house owner's old SxS 12 gauge to take him out. It was just an awesome sight to see in a modern action movie, the more skilled operator using a practically antique weapon to achive victory. Probably the most memorable part of the movie (for me)

Way of the Gun has one of the greatest, "realistic" looking gun battles I have seen in film.

Stallone has an Ithaca in Copland.

Eastwood had an 870 in Bloodwork.

Hicks had an Ithaca in Aliens.

Sorry, I watch too many movies.
