No Glock collection is complete without the 17 longslide and the 24C longslide.

Absolutely not. It's a great gun.

To the Count, I respond:

Collect, my man, collect. I would start by collecting each size in a given caliber. I started this with the G22. Unfortunately, I was bitten by the G26 bug and had to have one, which was then followed up by a G19. Now, because the G22 was a gift from my father, I cannot get rid of it in favor of the G17. So...unfortunately I'm invested in collecting both 9mm and .40cal glocks.

My glock collecting habit has been put on hold though, in favor of the M&P. I'm only missing one as we speak (M&P40c).

The only problem is I don't know what to do with all these evil black guns. :D

Glock Collection

I would go for a sub-compact, in this case the G27. Lot of flexibility with mags and ammo with this and the G35 and G23. I am doing the same in 9MM.
Some will differ, but the nicest is the G34/35 imo.

I don't feel the need to do this, but if you collected a single example of each caliber on each frame size and other changes made to the design (e.g., types of checkering, finger grooves or not, accessory rail or not) over the years, you would have a pretty good-sized collection.

This is the second time time this week I've seen a thread wherein someone disparages the idea of "collecting" the things they want rather than things that will appreciate in value.

I hope you are not insinuating that Glocks will not appreciate in value. Whoever thought those metal Flintstones or Beatles lunch boxes in the '60s would ever be worth anything? I wish I'd bought and preserved a bunch of those......

I think any gun collection will increase in value after a national gun ban (heaven forbid). If that ever happens, a lot of people would wish they had a collection....

Glocks are fine guns but I don't see why you would bother collecting them.

Nothing different or outstanding about them except size. To me it would be like collecting bricks, fun bricks, but just bricks.

Now something like 1911's or Hi-Powers or CZ's there are so many variations it can make collecting fun but Glocks just don't do fill that niche for me.

Is it too small to be comfortably
shootable?

Hell no. I just bought one after mulling about Glocks for 2 years. I swear it's one of the most accurate pistols I've ever shot. It can be shot one-handed, very easily.

not at all. i had a G27, and it started to hurt after 3-4 mags of ammo. That was with the +1 Pearce pinky extension too..the .40 is just alot to handle without a full grip. my G19 and my buddies G26 are a breeze to shoot compared to the 27. glock + 9mm = perfect marriage

i am in the same boat with xd's and i plan to own more than the 2 that i already have. i have the service and sc .40 and need the tactical mdel to make the .40 xd collection complete. so i say get em all, but i personally would go with the 9mm models, i always thought t would be cool to have a 17, 19, and a 26!

Actually, I'm really tempted to buy the 26. Would go nicely with my 34, 17, and 19. :)

G17
G22
G20 (best of the bunch)

Keep that collection growing CountGlockula:evil:

I don't see a problem with collecting Glocks. If you buy all used they won't be dropping in value like others have mentioned, they will only drop so far from new prices.

If you don't want a different caliber I would collect by model and by generation.

If you want a different caliber you might keep it to one generation. ( I would get all 2nd gen personally)

Collecting things just to be able to make a profit later takes a lot of the fun out of collecting. Collect what you like not what you think will support your retirement, that is what investing is for.

"Collecting" Glocks is kinda like "collecting" pine 2x4s

well, isn't that special... Except for an SKS, Ive never shot a 2x4. But, if he wants to collect Glocks, great.

I have a Glock collection, and I like the guns. reliable, simple, elegant.

It always amazes me the disparaging remarks people make when someone wants to chat about their hobby, but the gun isn't good enough for some snobs. Their nose goes in the air so high that if it rains, they drown. Time to get that picklectomy, salute the OP for enjoying his hobby and say... get a Glock!

Heck, get a bunch of Glocks! Have one hard chromed, paint one with Duracoat.. Do a torture test on one. have fun with your collection and don't let the snobs ruin it for you.

I don't own a Glock they don't fit my had the best, but I may choose one in the future and do some mods to make it fit. I would 2nd the suggestion of buying used if you can, Glock is one manufacturer that has proven it's reliability and as long as you go through a store that you trust you should be fine, after 3 used Glocks you could add a fourth for the price saved on not buying new and it sounds like you'll be buying lots more. I would go with a 19 or 17 but also look hard into the longslide models. Have fun and let us know.
Good Luck and Be Safe!

I'm still early in my collection. I have a Glock 26 and G33. I had a G19 Homeland Defender, but had to sell it for the cash. I'm financially back on track now, so I'll be replacing the G19 soon. After that, I'll be after a G17.
