Should There Be More Proficiency Test Requirements for CCW?

I wouldn't want to prevent people with infirmities protecting themselves. However, I wouldn't want people spraying bullets at random. It's a difficult line to draw for those that design the CCW tests.

I don't think we need any more laws restricting or making it harder to carry a weapon but I do think that training should be strongly encouraged. Instead of making new rules or laws just run an add campaign strongly pushing those who own firearms to seek training.

I guess I would be ok with a law requiring some kind of a handout and point of sale lecture by the gun dealer to all first time gun buyers. I have seen many gun salesman make a sale to total neophytes many times without mentioning anything about safety. I think in our sales/consumer based society mentioning that something may be dangerous could hurt business, reduce sales and effect the bottom line. Not something a gun store owner wants.
