Shower weapons? Any inventive ideas?

Just goes to show: Never underestimate the angry naked man.

Yes, if he's running toward you in anger obviously unarmed, he's either drugged, crazy, or VERY confident in his ability to beat you badly. All very dangerous.

Do you own a gun? If so, what the H-E-double hockey sticks causes you to be so concerned? Do you routinely carry? If so, what the H-E-double hockey sticks causes you to be so concerned? Or is being prepared for a violent confrontation outside your home normal, being prepared for a violent confrontation inside your home is perfectly acceptable, but being prepared for a violent confrontation inside your bathroom crosses the line into paranoia? I'm sure we all wish we could schedule violent encounters when it is most convenient for us, but unfortunately that is not possible.

If a few minutes every day unprotected in the shower is an acceptable risk for you, great. It would be for me too. But to criticize somebody for ensuring their own security while in the shower, on a sub-forum dedicated to strategies and tactics for situations that the vast majority of people will never encounter seems extremely hypocritical.

Smithy--

Apparently you didn't read the three paragraphs preceding my question, in which I tried to give the OP some strategic advice. Nonetheless, my question remains unanswered . . . what the heck causes the OP to go to the point of gathering up the keys to his safe(s), bringing his gun into the bathroom, and maintaining an additional weapon in his shower? It seems a fair enough question, given the fact that the OP has already gone to pretty great lengths, well beyond what most of us would contemplate, and wants to bolster his shower defense arsenal. It really is important--is he acting out of fear of retribution from past criminal associates? Is there a generalized pattern of crime in his neighborhood? Is there a history of home invasions that causes him concern? All of this actually does matter--the truth may be that he is dealing with an actual, specific threat from identifiable individuals. Maybe he's living in a bad neighborhood. Or perhaps he is off his rocker . . . not that there's anything wrong with that. To me, understanding the threat condition is critical to developing an appropriate strategy.

I might have some thoughts to contribute to the thread, but I'd like to know why I should discuss my business with a criminal.

Gunwitch, explain this please:

Folks here really don't read the threads before you all post, do you? Ya'll might want to consider which questions you respond to, and which ones you don't. There are reasons why I don't talk about everything I do.

Then you have good reason to be afraid. Criminals prey on criminals. It's time for this one to be closed, and time for the OP to tell the staff who he is. There are enough claims being couched in vague generalities in this thread. The realism rule is hereby invoked.
