This is my family of firearms. I will admit that I am showing off. I'm proud of my ever growing collection. All of my friends my age definitely have different tastes than me. I like something with history and character.

The first picture is of my Ruger family (I must admit that I'm partial to Rugers). The next picture is the rest of the mutts :D

Nice collection. I guess you're not into military style semi-autos except the M1. Nice to see the Browning Belgium A5 "humpback". I've got one of the "light" versions in 12ga and two of the Belgium 20ga A5 shotguns as well. Did a lot of hunting with those.

I'm not one for muzzle loaders at all. I just can't get turned on by them. But I'll add a S&W 29 and hopefully a Colt Anaconda one day.

I hope to own a vintage M1 Garand soon as well.

More and more. This is an addiction like any other. It's just healthier than drugs or alcohol. However, it is not easier on my billfold.

OK, so next you need to get the following:

A pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in .270 or what ever caliber strikes your fancy.

A Colt Python my favorite is the 4" barrel.

A Colt 1911 Series 70.

Then you'll be on the right track... Just messing with you.

I have one of those Ruger .44 mag carbines, they are very light and powerful. Mine is marked "Deer Stalker". I guess they had to change the name because of a copy right infringement, so later models were called something else.

My addiction has been going on a long time. There is no 12 step program however.

That's a nice collection!

The only "collection" picture I have is of my Browning designs...

I see we have some overlap there.:)

Ain't THAT the truth!!

A month ago, I bought a Kel-Tec PMR-30 .22 Mag auto and I just "won" an auction on GunBroker for a Marlin 1894 in .357 Magnum that I've been looking for since 2013. :D

NOT cheap!!

Yeah you've got Rugeritis really good! Great family though you need to let the handguns get caught up with the long guns; they're outnumbered by them at over 4 to 1! Maybe a couple of 1911s and a few S&W revolvers to sort of even up the sides.

Thats a pretty small family where we come from. No disrespect intended. It is a very nice collection. And in 90% of gun collections, its a very large one. I am unable to show my members. ATF types snoop to much on these sites. So for me.. less is more.

So, who gets to clean and lube them all?
That's always ruined my motivation to have very many.

Tinpig, that's a nice Hi-Power, but John Browning actually had little to do with designing it. 1911 Tuner corrected me a long time ago, as to the origins of the Hi-Power.

Browning submitted a prototype, which was rejected by the French. Browning died and some years later a Frenchman named Dieudonne Saive finalized the design which became the Browning hi-power. Browning's name was attached to the gun for obvious reasons, but in reality John Browning never saw one.

(Obvious reasons= sales and money)

Most of them get cleaned after they get shot. At least a good "Bore snaking" and light cleaning. I'm lucky enough to work on the golf staff at a country club in Western NC and have about five months of the year off. That gives me plenty of time to shoot, clean, shoot, clean, shoot... you see the pattern. Eventually I shoot them all and have been forced to clean them all good.

tark-

I knew someone would say something about the Hi-Power not being a Browning. ;)

I understand that the design was completed by Saive after Browning's death and I certainly give him his share of the credit.

However, JMB's fingerprints are all over the pistol, too, so I still consider it a Browning design.

Between them they got it right!

Barrett - you'll like this.

It is not original as, when I bought it used ~25 years ago, it had fixed chokes. I took it directly from the gunstore to the gunsmith 2 blocks away abd he modded the gun for screw-in chokes.
Some years later, I learned that the Stevens Mod. 511 had been made with screw-ins too.
:D
