I'm starting to collect firearms mainly for plinking and target shooting - some for hunting. Anyways I am in search of a new gun and here's my collection:
-Rossi .410/.22lr
-Savage Mkii Bolt actoin .22lr
-Ruger 10/22
-Walther G22
-Baby Eagle 9mm
-Marlin .30-30
-Remington 870 12ga
-Ruger M77 Mkii Compact 7mm-08

*I am not too interested in another shotgun nor hunting rifle - though I could use a precision target rifle.
*My budget is no more than $750.

A lot is missing.
How do you like that Baby eagle 9?
Is it a good carry gun?
I was looking at it a glock 26,xd9 sub compact and a CZ 2075 RAMI.

M1 Garand - $625
AR15 - $750
AK of some sort - $500
1911 - $400+
.38/.357 Magnum revolver - $350+ (your choice of mfr.)
Ruger Mini-14 - $650
M1 Carbine - $500

You could buy any one of these below and a handgun of your choice, or two of the below and some ammo and still stay in your budget:
Mosin-Nagant rifle. - $100
SKS Carbine (fun, fun, fun!) - $200
HI-Point 9mm carbine (great plinker!) - $175

Your collection is lacking a "Homeland Defense rifle." Any semi-auto military rifle: AR, AK, SKS, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, etc. Plus, they're all a blast to shoot.

how about a .308 battle rifle? the chinese m14 copies can be had used for right around 750$ buy it shoot it then ad GI parts as time allows, that'd allow for it to be built up into a nice longer range rifle that could double for hunting

There is a big void between 22 and 30-30 in the handgun area. Time to accumulate some more. Try out some revolvers.

I think there are 3 guns (and these are cheap) that everybody needs to have . You've already got the 10/22. You need a Ruger MK .22 and a Winchester 94.
Now, if you want to spend money, you also need a Colt Woodsman, a 1911 and a vintage Smith revolver.

1911
M1A
AR15

FS2000
Blaser .338 LM
Rem 700
Marlin 45-70 Cowboy
Sharps 45-70

M200 .408

I could go on :)

Auburn;

As you've stated that your primary interest is in plinking/target, I'll adjust my suggestions to accommodate your interests.

I noted that previous suggestions included both the Marlin 39A & the CZ527 in .223. I've got both. Both are fine guns & well worth your interest. But if you really want very high quality plinking, try the CZ452/453 .22. The 453 has the single-set trigger, the 452 doesn't. I hunt with my 452, the sport is gopher shooting, & shots at or over 100 yards are common. The CZ wears a Nikon Monarch 3.3-10X A/O mil-dot scope in Talley rings. The whole rig is right on your upper budget, given careful shopping.

Do the requisite ammo testing to find out what your gun wants, & 100 yard MOA accuracy is not at all out of the question. There ya go.
