Only guns you can own in your lifetime

No, and maybe. I don't like revolvers, so put a DA/SA auto pistol in 9mm or better on the list, and we'll talk. I like Sig.
Otherwise, I like the pump shotgun, I have a savage bolt .22LR, and I have an SKS and a Mosin. I'm waiting till payday to get another mosin, a 10/22, and an upper for my first AR project. Its gonna be a good day for Gander Mtn.

Remington 870 express 12 gauge
Bersa thunder .380
S&W model 10 in 38 special
Marlin 780 .22 LR bolt action rifle
Ruger 10-22 carbine
Taurus 66 old model .357 revolver
SKS in 7.62x39mm
Mosin Nagant M38 7.62x54R

Let's see
-22 rifle of some sort, check
-22 handgun MISSING
-shotgun, check
-defense carbine/SUV, check
-handgun okay for concealed carry, check
-full sized full power handgun, check
-long range rifle, MISSING

redundancy in 22 rifles
Model 10 is also redundant, and as only a 38 special, not all that great, unless you add the catagory "secondary full sized full power handgun in case first one is unavaiable (evidence, being repaired)

While the Mosin is a great gun, as your only full powered rifle, I just fear it may not be able to do all the things a basic Savage 30-06 can do

Note, my choice for many of these rolls would be different, but I won't criticize your choices, only the holes in your spread

My preferred list, keeping expenditure as low as possible:

CZ452 bolt action rifle in .22 lr or .17 hmr with a decent scope depending on whether I'll be shooting paper or animals.

Howa 1500 bolt action rifle in .243 with a decent scope. YMMV, but the .243 can be used to shoot all available game in my home state.

CZSP01 Shadow for IPSC/USPSA Production Division competition.

S&W 642 for concealed carry.

S&W 686 six inch barrel for paper punching/steel plates/hunting.

Ruger Single Six convertible for plinking and small game hunting.

Revolvers could be used, as long as they met Jim Marchs revolver check out.

Probable over all cost would be $600 more than OPs current list based on Gunbroker prices.

There would be many other guns I would like to own, but I could get by with these.

In twenty years of shooting I've fired three rounds of 12 gauge, so I don't have a personal need for a shotgun.

I am not too fond of any of those guns. Nothing wrong with them but none of them fit my personal taste. I supplemented my choice for each "role" I imagine each gun wold fill for me.

Remington 870 express 12 gauge
I prefer Mossberg 500 shotguns due to the tang safety.

Bersa thunder .380
I have a Sig P232 and while I think Bersa makes a fine gun I would never trade my Sig for one. Since this is your CC choice I would have to take either a Glock 19 or 9mm RAMI BD instead. I go back and forth between comfort and capacity.

S&W model 10 in 38 special
Ruger 3" Sp 101 in .357

Marlin 780 .22 LR bolt action rifle
CZ 452. There is not a bolt action .22 I feel more comfortable with.

Ruger 10-22 carbine
Marlin 60. I just don't care too much for the 10/22.

Taurus 66 old model .357 revolver
4" SS Ruger Gp100. My favorite revolver of all time. Ever.

SKS in 7.62x39mm
CZ 527 Carbine. Currently my favorite rifle of all time.

Mosin Nagant M38 7.62x54R
PTR 91 F. Don't have one yet but I want one bad.

Everyone has their choices. My list is shorter and less expensive, but I don't need all that is in your list. I say each person should get what they like and not worry about what others have. :)

I will add a Sig Sauer p229 in 40 S&W on the list eventually
an AK of some type,a Remington 700 in 30-06,a S&W model 29 in 44 magnum,Lever action rifle in 357 magnum,Glock 19,Mossberg 500,Saiga 12,S&W model 36 in 38 special,and a 1911 of some sort.

I will acquire all this in one year starting late september when my funds allow for higher end buying. The Sig Sauer 229 will cost around $470-$550 in my local area pre-owned in good shape
And the rest will be around the same price except for the S&W model 29 which will be around $550-$600.

My guns I have now dont satisfy me completely because I am missing some other guns that are better quality and fit other roles for my needs.I dont have enough pistols, shotguns and I dont have enough rifles to expand my uses for.

But all the guns I have are lethal and are very reliable and can stop most intruders and be used in SHTF.

My only shotgun:
Remington 12 gague 870 Marine Magnum

My best .45 ACP 1911:
5" Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special

My best .357 magnum revolver:
Smith & Wesson 4" model 19-3

My best single-action revolver:
Ruger 50th Anniversary Blackhawk .357 magnum

My best 9m/m auto:
Smith & Wesson model 39-2 or West German SIG-SAUER P228

My best .38 caliber revolver:
1971 factory nickel 2" Colt Detective Special

My best rifle:
Colt Match Target H-BAR 16" barrel 5.56

My best .22 caliber handgun:
Browning Buckmark 5.5" barrel

My best .22 caliber rifle:
Ruger syntheic/stainless 10/22

Would you be satisfied with these guns?
Would they fit most of your needs?

No offense to anyone, but I would never own a Bersa. Friend of mine had one, and even after returning it to Bersa three times and after they replaced it once, it was still a lemon. If it works 100% of the time for you though, then it's a keeper .

Think most of your list is spot on though.

DMXX;

No, I would not be satisfied with them. No, they do not suit my needs.

I currently own two of the items on your list. One of which I'll keep, the other goes as soon as I find something that does the same job better for me. Neither the Taurus not the Bersa made the first cut either.

Some of us shoot from the left shoulder & insist on having things our way.

To cover most, if not all scenarios thi would be my list:

Long distance (300+ yds)
Remington 700 XCR .270

Medium distance/Assault Weapon:
Rock River AR/M4 .223/5.56mm

Short - Medium Range Coverage:
Mossberg 500 field/security combo 12ga.

Pistol for power:
HK USP .45

Pistol for concealment
Walther PPK .380

A good way to downsize the list if money is an issue. That whole list can be attained for much less then 3K with a good amount of ammo. I am guessing this is for a SHTF type scenario, right? If its just a general list, then the choices become very different.

No. Yes, but I can do the same stuff with fewer guns.

Remington 870 Express - OK.
S&W Model 13 .357 Magnum three inch.
Springfield XD Tactical in .40 S&W.
Savage Model 64F Rifle .22LR.
DPMS Panther 308 AP4 in .308 Win.

I think that any question like this is going to get a lot of "no"s because everyone has their personal favorite guns. I could add a few to your list myself.

That said, I think that a person could absolutely protect and support or feed their family adequately from that list of guns - particularly in today's political and economic environment. You can hunt deer and protect yourself with what you have; you can defend your home and family with that. While a person may "want" to hunt elk or bear, it is not necessary to hunt elk or bear to survive. People take elk and bear all the time with bows - meaning you can get within 50 to 60 yards of them with reasonale skill - so a tack driver is not necessary at all. Anything that will shoot within a two to four inch group at 100 yards is plenty good for staying alive kind of accuracy. Of course having the power to stop an elk or bear might be a problem with what you have but, like I said, there are other hunting options for food and the odds of you being attacked by a bear are so slim that you should hardly consider it. It is easier to avoid a bear attack than to prepare to survive a bear attack.

I think it is a good list of guns covering a broad spectrum of needs. If the question you posed was truly the case: those guns were absolutely all I could own for the rest of my life, then yes, I'd be satisfied. They would do the job and I would put my thoughts and efforts into things I could change - perhaps how to better use those guns and how to survive better with those guns.

That list of guns would definitely meet most of my needs. I can't think of a single thing I couldn't do with them that I might need to do in this lifetime.

The answer to the question being inferred by all of us responding here, "Is that the list of guns I would like to have?", is no. There are plenty of other guns I would like to have, either because they would be fun, cool, or for whatever reason but they would not be necessary. And there are plenty of guns in your list that are in my like-to-have list as well.

But you keep talking about - at least what I inferred from your original post in this thread and the other recent one you posted - must-have guns versus like-to-have guns. Your exsting list is a great list for must-have guns. You don't have to add any of these to accomplish that goal.

Of course adding all of these starts a nice like-to-have list but you'll find out one 1911 is never enough. I'm not sure that six 1911's would ever be enough. Would twelve? Perhaps not but I think my wife would have had enough by then. LOL.

i would not be satisfied, but i could possibly make them fit my needs if there were no other chioce. looking at your cut down list...

My favorite rifle is
Ruger 10-22 - i would prefer a lever .22, but the 10/22 is a nice choice
My favorite all around gun is
Remington 870 - won't fault you there...it's your most versatile choice
My best concealable handgun is
Bersa .380 doesn't work for me...i'd need a better caliber...either compact 1911 or SP101 in .357
My best revolver is
S&W model 10 - you could get the SP101 and combine this with above, but a larger revolver would be nice. i'd want a model 13, 19, 65, 66, 586, or 686
My best defense rifle is
sks - i have one, but i don't think its a great choice. very heavy for a defense rifle. if you like 7.62x39, you'd be better off with an AK. i'd prefer an AR.
My best bolt rifle
Mosin Nagant m38 - meh...i'd rather a remington or maybe savage

i also think you need the following:
- a decent full-size semi-auto, 1911 or BHP would be my first choices
- a .22 hangun, either revolver or semi-auto

I'd probably ditch one of the revolvers (keeping the closest to pocket size) and upgrade my .380 to a 9mm

Would you be satisfied with these guns?
NO
Would they fit most of your needs?
Probably not.

A basic collection IMHO should include:
one pistol .45 1911 Kimber, Springfield, Colt
one revolver .38/.357mag S&W 686
one shotgun 12 guage Remington 870
one bolt action rifle .30-06 Remington 700
one semi auto rifle .308/7.62x54 Springfield M1A

If I had to choose only 5 firearms for the rest of my life for SD/HD/Camping/Hunting/SHTF it would be the five above

My current collection:

S&W 640 w/ Crimson Trace grips (pocket revolver for CCW when nothing else is practical)

Glock 30SF (for CCW when I can carry more than the revolver)

Taurus PT1911 (entry-level 1911 to play with at range -- will be upgraded if I decide I want a 1911 for carry purposes)

Ruger 10/22 carbine (just for fun, my first rifle, and to teach my girls to shoot with later)

Ruger mk III Hunter (for target practice, to improve my marksmanship skills with cheap ammo, also as a first pistol for my girls to learn on)

My wish list:

Shotgun (perhaps a Remington 870 of some flavor. I have yet to do any research into this)

EBR (i'd like both an AR and AK-variant, just for fun)

collectible rifle (perhaps a MN actually manufactured in Russia prior to or during WWII)

hunting rifle (something in 30-06 or comparable)

Glock 34 or 35 (if I get into IDPA)

Barbeque/cotillion gun for when Texas legalises OC (something pretty but not ostentatious, like a Ruger New Vaquero, in .357 mag, so I can use the same ammo as for my S&W 640)

Remington 870 express 12 gauge
Bersa thunder .380
S&W model 10 in 38 special
Marlin 780 .22 LR bolt action rifle
Ruger 10-22 carbine
Taurus 66 old model .357 revolver
SKS in 7.62x39mm
Mosin Nagant M38 7.62x54R

No & No

I will see your eight and call.

I might be able to make do with just 5:
Ruger 77/22 in .22 WSM
Rem 700 in .308
Rem Sportman 48 in 20g.
FNP-9
Ruger MKII
