So over the last several weeks I've been reading over a lot of forums and threads relating to SHTF situations and guns. In all these threads, it seems everyone is preparing to shoot anyone who looks at them funny during a SHTF situation. I think most of us agree that we are just interested in protecting our families, ourselves, and our property. I'm sure this is most everyone's goal--and it is a worthy goal. So I think there needs to be more talk about "rules of engagement". Just because there might not be any law in a SHTF situation doesn't mean that it should be a free-for-all bloodbath. I think that if there is ever a time when there is no more official law-enforcement, we need to realize that we're all in this together--families, neighborhoods, communities, towns, and perhaps counties need to band together for the common purpose of self-reliance and protecting each other. In most cases, I'd just as soon defend my neighbors and their families as I would defend my own. While I love my family more than I love my neighbor's, I acknowledge that my family is no more/no less important than my neighbor's family in God's view. I think the forums are saturated and exhausted with talk of "reaching out and touching someone" and it's probably time to start considering your neighbor, forming good relations in your families, neighborhoods, and communities because if we're all against each other, there is no point. Thoughts?
