Sig grey P365

I been thinking about getting a Sig P365 for awhile, once the one with the safety came out I decided it was time to replace the ruger EC9S. But I waited awhile then all the problems began and weapons are hard to fine. Our local Academy would get them in now and then but they were grey frames which i really didn't think about it. Well about two weeks ago i happen to see on the web site that Academy had some. I went and picked one up. So far I'm really enjoying it but wonder why Sig began making them with grey frame. I checked on Sig's web site and there really no mention of the grey frame. Just wondering if anyone knows about the grey frames? I'm thinking maybe it some type of contract with Academy so they can tell if a gun was sold by them? Anyone have any ideal about this? Thanks.

IMHO it's simply a decision made by Sig Sauer based on cosmetics. I bought a grey P365 Sig yesterday at Academy. The salesman said that they could only get the version with the safety in the two-toned grey and black, but didn't say why. I didn't ask, but I suspect he did not know why. I've talked with him before about various gun issues and he'd expressed some frustration with Academy as he could never really get good explanations for why they couldn't carry something he thought would sell briskly.

O.K. It didn't brother me really i like the color combo but just found it funny that I couldn't fine anything on the internet about it. It seems that Academy is the only place selling them or at least it the only place i have seen them.

May be an exclusive. Last Black Friday I saw P365 frames for $12 so getting then in a different color is no big deal. On their website now they are showing it in Coyote.

I wasn't aware of other color options. But I really like my 365. And on that gun, the way I carry it, having a safety is a plus.

Got one from Buds maybe 6 weeks ago. Had to join the Buds club to get it. Looks like they sold out of it now. They are showing a few models (including coyote but no safeties) for 'retail store only'. I think the two-tone looks really nice.

I haven't seen the grey two tone, and they don't show it on the SIG website, but for me, it doesn't matter after all it's in my pocket most of the time, so I don't see it much.
