Sig P250, Any good?

My friend got one a couple months ago and loves it. He has it set up on the medium size (I'm not sure the technical term) in 9mm and uses it for conceal carry. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot it yet.

I was sorely tempted.

Sorely.

But I bought a P229 .357 sig instead, and a .40 S&W barrel. I just couldn't see spending the extra for the 9 mm and .45 components. YMMV.

go to

AR15.com and hit on the sig fourm. Many do not like the model 250, Not sure why either, ...

Many shooters don't like the trigger. It has a very, very smooth pull, but the reset is very long---all the way back like a revolver.

My son bought a P250 and had light prime strikes, which got progressively worse. He sent the pistol back to Sig and it was replaced rather than repaired. While Sig's customer service was good, the fact that the pistol needed to be fully replaced was disturbing.

Never mind, after doing some reading on the Sig P250 on other forums. I think I will cross the Sig P250 off my list. There seems to be more than a few issues with the P250 concerning reliability and durability. Makes me wonder how well the design and parts were tested out before selling it to the public.

My buddy picked up a Sig 250 recently and he really likes it. Personally I'm a huge fan of Sig but the 250 doesn't do anything for me. I really don't like the trigger and I'm not a big fan of it's look. I like the features of the gun but I'll stick with the more older models.

Also his 250 seems picky on ammo, It won't feed Magtech at all. He tried putting a box of Magtech FMJ ammo through it and after every shot it would ftf. He tried some Winchester FMJ and it cycled just fine.

and normally sigs are not ammo sensitive at all. I think they rushed the 250 out to fast and now are suffering the wrath of disgruntled sig owners..

I've posted this before but I absolutely HATED my P250. Worst, most expensive handgun purchase decision EVER. Most are taken by the modularity (which is non-existant) and the ergonomics (which are the best of any pistol I've ever held). I fired over 2000 rounds through mine and was approaching a 10% failure rate - which is simply unacceptable. Sig produced this weapon focusing on military and LE, and hope NO agency picks it up for fear of their lives. The platform is unreliable.

The MODULARIITY thing IMO was what drawed many into the sig 250, not sure when you try to make a gun that does IT ALL, that some comprimises are also in the design. a shame you had issues, when I first read of the 250 I though, ALRIGHT this is super. now not so gun-ho...

i have seen one used in a training course back in sept of 08, there were no issues in the 2 days of training and about 800rds + in the 2 days.
