When will this new group at Sig learn?
Well after about 2 years of jerking us around on the 556 rifle Sig introduced what we asked for in the first place. A classic looking Sig 556 with swiss parts that was compatible with AR15 mags..... At Shoot this year they introduced the Sig classic..... Finally the rifle I was interested in!!!!! Called my dealer said put me on the list.......
Then today I read this:
So Sig is not using the real Swiss parts but instead is going to use some piece of **** from China or Israel which is a copy of the real deal for the Sig Classic..... What a joke. This is the second big time bait and switch by Sig.... Even worse:
What are they doing in Exter?

More interestingly, however, was the variation between stocks on display. About half of the Classic models had what appeared to be Swiss collapsible folders, with a Swiss-sounding company name printed on the inside of the stock (*not* Wiegmann, but something else that ended with the German corporation acronym). The other half I didn't check the insides of, but they appeared to be made of a different poylmer, and had the Sig Sauer logo printed on the left side next to the release button.
Wild speculation as it may be, it appears to me that SIG imported a couple dozen of the Swiss stocks for the initial production, and now is switching over to a domestic or else lower-cost foreign (Israeli or Chinese) copy. There seemed to be a noticeable difference in stiffness between the two types of stocks; the presumably Swiss example slid in and out with much more resistance than the Sig Sauer-marked stock.
So Sig is not using the real Swiss parts but instead is going to use some piece of **** from China or Israel which is a copy of the real deal for the Sig Classic..... What a joke. This is the second big time bait and switch by Sig.... Even worse:
So I handled a bunch of the 556 Classic and 552 models today, and noticed some interesting things. For one, it appears pretty clear that the locking block is just part of the aluminum receiver; there is no steel insert to prevent wear. I see this one potentially coming back to bite SIG in the butt pretty badly in time.
