I like the idea of a manual safety. Gives you the best of both worlds.
If you happen to inadvertently engage the safety all you have to do is disengage it. I carried a 1911 for a very long time & believe me if you need the gun in a hurry it's no problem taking the safety off. It's all in how you train.I like a manual safety on striker guns too but I don't think it gives you the best of both worlds. If you want the safety version get it, if you don't then get the non-safety version. For people who don't want to use a safety I do see a legitimate gripe with having one on the gun because it can engage inadvertently and be on when they don't expect it. If you have a safety and train with it and use it, that's not an issue.
What kind of techniques do you use to train for that scenario? A 1911 is, of course, totally different than a striker fired pistol that has a safety that an individual decides not to use.If you happen to inadvertently engage the safety all you have to do is disengage it. Which one?Handled one today
Which one?
It's not available to the public.Glock did put a safety on their MHS submission to the US Army. Don't know if it's available to the citizenry, though.

I have 2 365s, no manual safeties for me; just like there aren't any on my Kahr, my M&P 2.0, my Glocks or my P7s. - One less thing to go wrong, one less thing to manipulate in a stress scenario - just point and shoot - like the old Kodak Instamatic cameras.
I would most definitely go with the Safety. You mention Kahr, but the Kahr is a Striker fired DAO which I like and feel fine without the safety. My Ruger LC9S is a light striker fired trigger and I carry only with the Safety for that gun. Very impressed with Sig for coming out with one for the 365.Smart move on their part.
Sig seems to be very serious about the 365. If they come out with a grip that has a little more room for my off hand, one that I know I will not ride the slide, then with the safety, I will be a buyer.
When I tested the 365 if was just not a perfect fit for my hand. However, I plan to revisit the gun again this summer and see if it is something I could adjust to.Without the safety, I would not be saying this.
Yes, Options are great. After all this is America.
