Welcome to the newer members of The Club! Great to see some new names on here. Don't forget to post some Sig porn and brighten up this thread!

SevenMichael-
You made a great choice for your first gun. The P229 9mm is a good gun for carry, home defence, and just shooting the bejesus out of at the range. 9mm is still cheap and its light recoil is a great round for introducing new shooters to our sport/hobby. What Mr.S said is good advice.
Good luck with your P229!

Johnny-
I have a P220 Carry that fits perfectly in the holsters that I have for my P228 and P229. As far as IWB holsters go, I just ordered my first Kydex IWB holster from FIST Holsters. I've heard alot of possitive reviews on the Ultra Thin Kydex line of their IWB holsters so I thought I'd try one. I ordered the #K10 for my P239. You can order their holsters with different stlye of snaps and loops. They make every holster to order and right now there is a 4 week wait. They also make some nice leather IWB holsters as well. Here is a link

Pelleman-
Welcome! I'd love to own just one of those P210s! Are P210s easy to get in Sweden?? Please post some pictures if you are able. Thanks!

Well, here's SIG #11, a DA/SA P220 Carry with nite sights, just back from its first trip to the range and ready for a bath. :)

50 rounds of factory and 500 rounds of LSWC reloads and nary a bobble. Well, except for the one weird squib that I saw fly to, put a dent in, and bounce off the target. First squib I've had since I quit using a progressive press, and only #4 in my life time. At least it didnt get stuck in the barrel. :)

Thanks, 1Blindref! The trip was amazing. We exhausted ourselves a bit, but saw so many incredible things in the process. I have over 2600 photos between my wife and I that I need to sort through before I forget what's in all of them! :D

No gun shops at all; I did stop by a shop in Vienna that had a bunch of hand to hand weapons and some serious pellet guns, but no firearms. I did notice:
Munich police carry HK P7M8
Berlin police seem to carry a hodgepodge of many weapons
Parisian police carry SIG SP2022's

On a SIG note: has anyone purchased one of the new SIG airsoft pistols? I'm seriously considering one for basement training sessions:

Could I join ;) Just picked up this nice gun few weeks back. Done put about 1000 rounds through it. No problem what so ever except, and maybe you guys can help me with this.

I decided to run some 155 gr Ranger defensive ammo through it, not the T, and man it smelled bad. Like a smokey stinky smell.,Anyways, 2 clips later and the bullet, Winchester which is what I always use/ didnt go into the bore good enough. Ive decide Im not going to use that stuff anymore. It just smelled dirty. oh yeah...Pics :D

Congrats on #11 :what: How do you like the balance of the P220 Carry? I really like the way mine feels.

wolvdog-
Welcome to the Club and to THR!
Nice gun and accessories. Is that a Homeland Defence/Coast Guard P229? I've never shot the Ranger ammo through any of my guns so I can't tell you about that smell. I carry either Federal Hydroshocks or Corbon ammo.
Good luck with your new Sig.

1BlindRef, you were wrong.. lol

My guess is that a P239 will be next ;)

Nope, not the P239, but FOR SURE, the Revolution Nitron Carry 45

It can't happen soon enough!

Greetings folks.

I'm undergoing some hobby changes and want to sell my P220C SAO. I have it up for sale at this topic:
<http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=278815>

I'll be back to Sigs once I can afford them better. Moving from Florida (low cost of living) to Colorado (higher cost of living) and taking a pay cut means I have to cut back.

I like the P220 carry pretty good. :)

Its about the same size as my P229's, although the grip is a little larger. Its not my first 220, I have two standard pistols and I also have a P245.

loplop,

I have one of the airsoft pistols made by the same company that is making them for SIG. It just doesnt have all the SIG logos on it. Its made by KJW. Mines a P229 copy. Works pretty much like the real thing, but doesnt "quite" recoil like my 357SIG's. :)

They are great for all sorts of practice, with force on force being the most fun. I also practice in my house (when my wife isnt home), and in the basement (my hole :) ) all the time. I took a couple of sheets of the blue foam insilation, cut a piece out about the size of the kill zone on an IPSC target, head to belly, and tacked a towel to the back to stop the pellets. Just tack your favorite bad guy target to the front, and put a tray behind, under the towel to catch the pellets, and your set. If you happen to miss the kill zone, the foam usually catches and holds the pellets.

I got my gun from here....

the gun, a spare mag, a bunch of pellets and some gas cost me about $165 total. Thats less than what I saw the SIG approved gun for alone, and all I saw were sold out. It feels real close to my P229 weight and ballance wise, works just like it, and fits all my holsters, so I can practice just like I do with the real one.

Heres a pic of the two together...

If I get a chance, I'll try to take a pic of my backstops.

Sign me up for the SIG club. I got my first today, a P225 stamped "Made in West Germany." It's in very nice shape and appears to have been hardly short. It has some finish wear but was spotless inside. It came with the original box, one spare mag, but no manual (I downloaded one from sigarms.com).

Looking forward to taking it to the range this weekend.

Welcome Dave!
Nice find :D I've been looking for a clean P225 myself. Post a picture if you get a chance. Where do you shoot?
I live in Glenside.

Thanks, 1BLINDREF. I shoot at either Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club, Wicen's Range in Bucks County, or Langhorne Rod and Gun Club at Rally Point events.

New Wood Grips Arrived.. but

...

I found the Wood Grips (style) that 1Blindref shows on his P220 on page 18, and ordered them from Hogue woodgrips (the pictures of P220's various wood grips-American Checkered Coco Bolo are the ones) from:

www.gunaccessories.com

But, they are not that style, but textured almost pure rectangular to just below the top, which is smooth wood.

So, I called GA.com and had them go to their sites picture, and sure enough, they saw the style I saw, and wanted, but said they are not coming thru like that anymore and they needed to change their pictures to reflect what one will actually get.

But they did give me Hogues direct number, and I'm waiting for a call back to see if I can have them made special, if they don't have any in stock.

Otherwise, I put the ones they sent on, and the gun looks AWESOME with the wood grips, yet I still needed my black, slim Hogue fingered slip-on rubber sleeve to have a, my, comfy, accurate 2-hand grip.

I must say, it looks kinda AWESOME with the Nitro black Finish of the slide and frame, along with the Nickel finish Hammer, trigger, and all levers with the wood, and the black sleeve, which allows a lot of the wood to show, on top, above the black rubber sleeve and, a tad of wood showing just below the black sleeve, giving it a unique look IMO.

Now, I must get the new Digital Camera out and figure it out, take some shots/pics, then get them here, for you all to see.

Will keep ya posted, and if by chance, I can't figure out how to post the pics, I'll ask for one of you to give me your email addy, and send the pics to you, so they can be posted for all to see.

I'll let ya know when the pics are rdy..

Lonestar49,
There are two "stepsisters" that are not in the picture - G17 & G26.

Don't mess with TIME

...

And you should leave those evil stepsisters where they belong, out of the picture of perfection.. LOL

Just picked up my new P229R in 9mm yesterday and am considering replacing the P239 that I sold a couple of months back to serve as my carry gun. However, I have an urge to pick up a Springfield EMP as well so I'm not sure if I'll be adding a third Sig to the lineup.
