Sigs

I bought a reverse two tone P226. I eventually want to have my Stainless P226 Nitroned in regular two tone so I can have opposing two tones P226s.

I shoot the All stainless in USPSA so it may have to wait a while. Orrrrr, I might have to buy another.

I keep buying lotto tickets so I can complete my acquisition list as soon as possible. :)

The P226 Stainless being one of the finest weapons ever made lends itself the multiples if for no other reason than different coatings and looks. You can never have too many.

I placed an order for a Bar Sto 9mm Conversion barrel for my .40 S&W P226s. I can't wait until it gets here. I guess I better load up on 9mm mags as well.

STs dressed in Nills

I was lucky enough to score a set of Nills for both my P226 and P229ST from a member over on the Sig forum for a great :what: price. I probably wouldn't have bought them new because their prices are getting really high (along with everything else  )

Here are my new ST family shots :)

...

And friends ask me.. "why do you have more SIG's than any other make of handguns..?"

Because I keep seeing pictures like these and save them for my PC slide show..

NICE !!!

I like the look of Nills but they make Sigs too fat for my hands. I have had them on a P228/P226/P220 and ended up selling each set after a few weeks.

I can relate to that, as my Colo Bolo textured wood grips looked "very nice" on my Sig P220 but, same deal, not so much wide (but they were wider), but the "feel" was wrong, so they are up for sale and I went with a Hogue Rubber-full fingered wrap-around grip..

I love my guns, but they are first and foremost working guns, and function wins the day over looks..

But in the best-looks-department, wood and metal, win every time in my book.

I guess this falls under what my Dad used to say to me and I never understood: "Ya can't have your cake and eat it too.." And I thought he was nuts as; what else does one do with a cake..?

Hogue finger grooves....

The Hogue Finger Grooves make the 220 fit like a glove. They should be the factory grips. Im partial to my older SIG. Its lighter and thinner than the newer stainless slide ones. However, the feel of the 10mm wide trigger is NICE!!!

Question about an old (April 2008) picture.

PPGMD (April 17th, 2008, 06:04 PM), post #1357 of this thread, posted
My production divison 226ST.

[Nice photos deleted for brevity only. Link is above.]

Might I ask, sir, if those are Hogue Extremes on your 226ST? If not, what are they? If so, which finish is that?

Handsome 226ST, btw.

regards,

GR

Pretty sure..

...

Those look like the fairly new Hogue Aluminum slim grips.. also other nice colors besides those in the pic..

Great looking pictures!

:D I'm glad the P229ST went to someone who could appreciate it.

Are you enjoying it?

Thanks MEH.

I'm enjoying it very much. It is such a great shooter. I've only put 150 rounds through it since I bought her from you, but each round was a pleasure :) The balance of the P229 and the steel frame makes shooting .40S&W feel like a 9mm.

Of all of the Sigs that I own and have shot, the STs are by far the best shooting. I haven't tried the P229 or P226 with the Nills yet, but I can tell you for my hands, the P220 with the Nills is just perfection.

I don't know exactly what it is about the shape and fit of the Nill grips, but for me, the fit is perfect. Having said that, I'm still not sure they are worth as much as they cost. I would never put them on a "working" gun because of being affraid of beating them up, but they sure are nice for a range gun or BBQ gun :D

I'm also a big fan of the Hogue rubber finger groove grips - especially on a P239. They also fit my hands perfectly and are hard to beat for $20.00

1BLINDREF, the Nill's on my P239 stood up very well to IWB carry. No need to fear. They're not for pictures only :neener:

There must be some sort of subliminal mind control at work in this thread. I just found the thread late last night. I hadn’t made it through the first ten pages before sleep overtook me. I woke up this morning, went out and bought another Sig.

A used 2022-9mm, night sites w/ 4 Sig hi-caps, to make a total of 6 Sigs currently in my care: 220sst-45acp, 228-9mm, 229-9mm, P6-9mm, purchased less than 3 months ago, and last but not least an alloy frame 230-380acp, none are fancy, good shooters all.

That purchase saved me almost $500. I had stopped at a local shop and was going to buy a new 226st-9mm but I got there 35 minutes before opening time. I decided I’d go to the range and shoot some more test hp in the P6 and do a little proficiency work with the 229. Come back, pickup the 226, return to the range and give all my attention to the new gun.

Well the 2022 I had been eyeing at the range shop for the last 3 months was marked down $150, which put it in my price range, for that gun, and now I have a polymer Sig. Fits great and shoots great, 50 PMC ball & 100 gold dot, on target, 0 problems.

But I still bought a Sig and how long will it be before I’m persuaded to buy the 226st.

I hope these and the 7 other Sigs that have passed through my hands qualifies me as a member. I’ll post pics if requested but as
I said before none are fancy, good shooters all.

In closing: I like um, want one, got one. It’s mine. You can’t have it.

Welcome RonAMOK
You're in. Now all you have to do is post some pictures :D

Welcome back loplop - Glad to see you here again ;)

lol.... yeh I know, but I'd be seriously pissed if I scratched up a set of them

My 229

jareedo1
This is my P229 w/SAS slide in .357 picked it up as factory reconditioned for $599.00 . I love this weapon it's almost like they took a mold of my hand when building it, not to mention it's an excellent shooter.

New to THR, finding all sort of stuff. Longtime Sig fan, so thought I would bump this thread back to the first page with some pics of my Gray Guns enhanced P229ST

I am with you Lonestar, I have just ordered a set of Hogue grips for my 239 sas. I love the wood grips but am hoping that the switch the the rubber grips fit my hand a little better. I hate to get rid of the look of the wood but function is more important than the looks as it is an EDC and not a "safe queen"

New addition

I went to a gun store yesterday that I've never been to. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, just kind of killing time.

I spotted a set of old checkered grips in the back of a case with a bunch of used guns in it. It was a "JH" Tysons Corner P220. The tag on the gun said "box and extra mag" so I asked to see the box. Bingo - powder blue cardboard with all the papers and matching serial #. The gun looks like it has maybe 100 rounds through it. The spare mag is in perfect condition. It doesn't even look like its ever been put in the gun.
I didn't really "need" another P220, but there was no way I could walk away without it, and the price was right ;) :D

Nice P220 blindref.

My first Sig was almost one just like that for $400.

It was about 1994 and I was on vacation in Colorado. I stopped in a pawn shop and a 98% P220 was sitting in the box just like yours. They wouldn't do an FFL transfer back to Illinois where I lived even though I had a FFL buddy that would accept it. :(

Nice P239 9mm! Great find at a great price :D

oh MAN!
I'd love to find something like that to add to my "InterArms" collection.
That's why I always stop at gun stores just to look around. You never know what you might find ;)
