I voted don`t have, & won`t never have, I don`t support any thing that is anti-gun, if they won`t take another form of payment I don`t buy there................

I have one that I use for e-bay purchases. I once had a situation where I bought something over a forum and used paypal. The item I received was definitely not what was agree upon. I contacted paypal and they stepped in and I got all my money back the next day.

I do not use paypal. I do not like the way they do business, not just gun stuff, but other stuff as well.

I have had mixed results with ebay, so I no longer use it.

I tend to find ebay stuff is overpriced and undervalued. It is just not worth my time. (I feel the same way about my time wasted on ebay as some folks feel about their time at the reloading bench.)

Gotta love polls like these. Yeah, I have a Paypal account and only use it for Ebay transactions. If you are TOTALLY self sufficient then you can criticize people over their personal dealings. Odds are you are not self sufficient so in some way or another some of your money is going to an anti-gun agenda. Post all your financials here including where you buy gas, groceries, hardware, etc... We'll be happy to go through them for you.

I had Paypal for e-bay, and used it for several years with no problems.
Then the transactions for $250 worth of "cosmetics" from Israel, and $79 worth of "books" from Africa started to show up.

Paypal always removed and credited me for the bogus charges when asked, but were never able to stop them from continuing.

I closed out my account and have survived just fine without it.

I would like to clear the air with the "silly lazy Americans" comment that I made. I put it in such a context to reinforce a belief that I have. I feel if a person chose a easy wrong over a hard right They a simply a lazy person. It was never directed at any individuals just folks who financially support a anti company because of the ease of service. I am sorry It offended the paypal users but I stand by my statement.

Mcdonl, you seem to be very upset at me and I would like to make amends but with directly calling me stupid I'm guessing it won't happen. and no I'm not a hermit so.....

Jfthegr8, I will not disclose all of my expenditures and such and I didn't expect you to do the same. Having said that, chances are they are more pro gun than most as I'm a conscious consumer and I try to keep informed.

I have a commercial Paypal account as my business' sales are nearly 100% online, and more than half on ebay where I'm a Power Seller. If I didn't accept payments through Paypal I would be out of business literally overnight. With my customer base and where they shop I do not have a choice. Paypal is owned by, and is pretty much an integral part of, ebay. So if you've ever bought anything on ebay you're anti-gun.

Also, just as a little balance to the people that say they 'got screwed' or whatever by Paypal: I've run a few hundred thousand dollars through my Paypal account and have never had a single transaction error. All customer disputes have been handled fairly (some people are never happy). I've found their customer service to be great when I had questions or problems. :)

So if anyone here that considers Paypal anti gun, do you feel Walmart is antigun?

I "think" walmarts policy is to honor the states permit and requests that you keep is concealed(seems reasonable). Tenjed do you think walmart is anti firearms? Someone please correct me if I misunderstood the policy.

If I want something on Fleabay I'll email the seller and ask if he'll take an alternate payment, especially if it's firearms related. But one seller flat out refused to take anything other than PayPal.
So yes, once, I used PayPal.

No I don't for the same reason PayPal is not anti gun. How can a company be anti gun and allow some gun related items. People here seem upset that PayPal limits what gun related items you can purchase through them, but yet Walmart does not sell handguns or reloading equipment (in my area)

So anyone that feels PayPal is anti gun should also feel Walmart is. It is all or nothing right?

There is as much misinformation going around the gun community as there is that goes around the anti-gun community. I recently purchased reloading equiptment and used Pay Pal. I've bought and sold barrels, slides, recoil springs, sears, magazines (10 rounds or less), etc and used Pay Pal. Anyone who says Pay Pal and ebay are anti-gun need to understand what anti-gun means. If they were anti-gun they would not allow anything gun related to be sold or paid for thru Ebay or Pay Pal. So, to those who claim they are anti-gun, please explain why they allow items related to the gun market to be sold? Anyone?

I did, until they closed my account for a GB deal.

Then I learned they're anti-gun.

I had a lot of words with them on the phone, so needless to say, no PP for me.

Paypal and Ebay made it possible for me to sell things I was done with easier and for higher net prices than any other format I've ever used. Items I figured on hauling to the landfill went to make someone happy instead, and dropped money directly into my bank account. That money then was used to buy quite a few guns, including a couple of black ones - so they DO support gun rights!

Walmarts in California had numerous errors in their firearms sales records several years back. These quickly take the profit out. They don't sell firearms at any Walmart in CA that I know of. When they did, web warriors decried how they were putting LGSs out of business.

Paypal/Ebay is a business, with stockholders and such. They act in their stockholders interests. Their services are customer-controlled, but if someone uses their services to buy or sell restricted items in violation of state or federal law, several state AGs have expressed a willingness to bring suits to stop such practices. If there was money to be made, Ebay/Paypal would make it - but their risk-analysis folks say no.

Many supporters of the 2nd still conduct business with Ebay, Paypal, BofA, Walmart, and a host of others. If your kid needed brain surgery, would you disqualify a world-class brain surgeon because he was an anti?

I had a PayPal account, but will never use it again. If I can't use cash or my debit card, then I'll go elsewhere.

I have a couple more things for people to keep in mind when bashing Paypal as anti gun: Paypal is not a bank or even a credit card processing company. They are an online money transfer service. I'm no lawyer but my understanding is that they have none of the legal protections that, say, MasterCard has should someone use their card to purchase a weapon and kill someone with it. Also, ebay/Paypal is headquartered in California and that cannot make things any easier for them. I honestly believe that if they could allow payments for guns without opening themselves up for massive lawsuits they would. If Paypal could be used on Gun Broker and other gun sites Paypal would make more money. They are in business to make money after all.

I have a Paypal Business Debit Card with a MasterCard logo on it. I've used it to purchase two guns and I have no idea how many thousands of rounds of ammunition over the years. Paypal is shielded from liability when I buy weapons with my card because MasterCard is protected from it and they are processing the transaction.

Well, the antis have it all screwed up, which is exactly what they want, all of us fighting and wondering.Gunbroker is how I sell anything, period.Try it, and no, I ain't a GB investor or anything else.

Well by some of our logics on here I guess the proposed ANTI gun legislation is really pro gun because in a round about way it put money in my pocket and I sold some guns and ammo and bought more.:banghead: Get smarter or simply stop posting it's your choice.

Here's a guy who is probably an anti because he can twist anything he wants to make his point seem valid. Try comparing apples to apples instead of apples to bowling balls.

Agree. You should start taking your own advice.

I have a paypal account but only use it when dealing with a vendor that I am unfamiliar with, and I would prefer not to give a credit card number, my address, etc. to a company I don't even know for sure is real. I used it to buy some reloading equipment, so if they are anti-gun I guess they are not too diligent in stopping gun related sales. I leave nothing in the account so they are not making any money from me, only whatever percentage they get from the seller.

Yes,
Some years ago as a young college student I wanted to buy something or another online that required one. Haven't bothered with it much since...
