I use and would recommend both of the slings mentioned by jmr40 and when I want get my rifles all purtied up I use the Browning horsehair slings, which I have in black and brown. If I were to buy just one sling for a synthetic rifle it would be the montana sling 1" in black. I have several of them in black and brown, all 1". They are nice looking, easily adjustable, relatively light and strong enough to use as a shooting aide. The slip knot stays put very well. I have used the montana sling in rain and snow and it has held up fine, however if I lived and hunted frequently in a really wet environment or I wanted to set up the rifle as light as possible, I might favor the uncle mikes mountain sling. The UM mountain sling is not as good of a shooting aide though. Personally, I don't use the UM mountain sling much as I prefer the montana sling.
