A couple of important points to ponder.
I was just looking at the Gunbroker primer auctions out of curiosity. I saw those crazy prices and thought...hmmmm...if I could get my hands on primers, would it be worth it to profit a little from those PT Barnum chicken littles who are willing to bid those prices?
Here's what I came up with in my quick research.
1. I only saw one guy who was charging more than like $15 for shipping, or "buyer pays actual shipping"
2. Apparently, the average "Joe Blow" cannot ship Hazmat materials without pretty extensive training, even if you go through UPS. So even if you got them at a "decent" price, paying the Hazmat from a dealer, there is no way to re-ship them to someone who would win your auction.
3. That means these guys are skirting the legalities on the shipping.
4. The fines if caught doing so is upwards of $250,000.00, and the US Postal inspectors have one of the highest conviction rates of any law enforcement agency.
So, unless someone is more knowlegeable than me on this, and has acutal "legal" experience in doing it, this doesn't seem like either a good or safe investment.
That being said, I did find an outlet today that at least lists Winchester primers as "in stock" in all sizes, SP,LP,LP,LR, both 1,000 and 5,000 packs. I am assuming this because all the other brand primers on their site are listed as not in stock.
I already have a couple thousand of what I need, so I didn't jump on it. For those of you who are looking for a source, I'm posting it below. Let us know if indeed you were able to score any here. It'll also be interesting to see how long their stock stays in stock.
