Smaller mags = larger more 'deadly' bullets?

Bigger bullets are just bigger bullets they aren't any more deadly.

Bigger bullets are more deadly, you can't deny that. However, the extent to which they are more deadly has been met with some contention, and we honestly can't say how much more deadly they are. In general, people consider extra rounds to be more important than bigger bullets, at least that's the case for the 9mm over the .45.

I believe the ThomsonLaGarde tests which led to the development of the 1911 .45 ACP pretty much proved that bigger bullets ARE more deadly. But opinions vary.

Magazine restrictions would definitely influence my caliber/firearm choice.
Unlimited size I choose 40 SW
10 rounds or less .45 acp or 10mm
6 rounds or less: .357, .44 spl

definitly going .45 in the xd-s or the glock 36. i currently carry a colt .380 government as it is small and light weight. the glock and the xd are similar in size and weight and i just like the .45 for it's all around knock down power.

Lots of people are dead because of 9mm bullets hit them in right places.

I'd rather shoot with a gun/caliber that best suits my situation. More over, the only thing that really matters is shot placement.

If memory serves, the Israeli hit teams used a .22 Beretta with reduced-load ammo. The rest is history.

The only thing a mag capacity ban does to me is I've to start carrying more mags. In matches I usually carried about seven in addition to the one in the gun. That would translate into 80 rounds after the ban. No problem.

I'm all for people using any gun/caliber they want. Good luck to you all. Stay safe.

Modern, hollow point ammunition didn't exist when the Thompson / La Garde study was performed. It was valid for the ammunition available then, and likely is still valid if you are limited to ball ammunition, but we now have better ammunition for police and civilian use. In those days, .38 / 9 mm wasn't big enough to get the job done. It took .44 or .45. With modern bullet designs, the smaller calibers are now adequate and that shrinks the difference between them and the larger ones.

In war, football, or politics one of the best strategies is to get your opponent lookng in one direction and preparing for an attack from there, then come at them from a directon they do not suspect. Forget about the 1994 AWB. That did not work and there will not be any more like it. Be on the guard for something totally different.

yeah I fear some type of tax or user fee on guns/ammo that would take firearms out of the hands of poor folk like me.

People should carry what they shoot well, A miss with a 45 is not worth a darn, just because it has a larger diameter
