Smith and Wesson M & P pistol with carry kit

After transfer fee, that's roughly the same price my LGS sells 'em for. Plus my LGS throws in 6 months of discounted range time.

They are nice guns, though!
 
I got the 9mm carry kit for Christmas. Everything is quite nice, it isn't junk by any means. The magazine loader costs around $30 by itself, the extra magazine another $30, holster + mag pouch at least another $70. For what you get, it is a great price.

The holster is adjustable for cant and retention, and the mag pouch is also adjustable for retention.

I highly recommend them!

(The bud's description of the 9mm M&P states that capacity is 16+1, however it is actually 17+1)

One more question to those who got the M and P with carry kit (holster and mag pouch) . Are these pistols with no mag safety and no manual safety---just like a glock pistol is? M & P pistols have so much variations its mindboggling , so thanks if someone can answer this ?

Also the M & P Pro Series, do these have a better and lighter trigger pull, and better sights?
 
The M&P pistol kit comes in a MA approved version which includes a manual (I think) and mag safety. But I got the kit that had neither (just like my Glock).

The M&P Pro series do have a better trigger pull. And some have night sights, while some have a fiber optic front sight.
 
I recently purchased the M&P carry kit 9mm. My M&P 9 is very inaccurate,4"+ at 7 yards,experienced vertical stringing on slow fire drills, only used one brand of ammo. Ran flawlessly out of the box. I checked on M&P accuracy issues on the net to see if others had accuracy issues; it seems many have with the full size 9mm versions. I had shot a full size M&P 9 and 45 a few years ago and found them very accurate.

Folks who returned their guns to S&W have a range of experiences. Some got their guns back saying they were in spec and S&W found nothing wrong with them. Others report "some" to vastly improved accuracy with repaired guns. Some received new barrels or all new top end.

Many feel there is a combination of things wrong with the 9mm version.Early unlocking issue,frame/slide dimensional issues and a slow non standard twist rate.

I'm going to try more ammo brands,weights and some reloads when I whip up a batch.If accuracy is not to my liking back to Mass it goes.

I have plenty of other 9mm platforms(92s,BHP,P7s,SIG,Glock,Kahr,1911,Tokerov)all will shoot rings around my M&P 9. My Chinese Type 213 Tokerov will out shoot the M&P.

Do your own homework on the accuracy issue and draw your own conclusions before purchasing.
 
The M&P 9mms that had accuracy problems were typically printing about 8" at 25 yards. 4" at 7 yards is hard to believe, and I would most definitely talk to S&W about it.

My M&P9 will hold a 3" at 25 yards with me shooting so I am perfectly happy with it.
 
I had that carry kit but with the FDE model. Bought it on sale for $450. The holster isn't good for ccw but not bad for a range holster. I wasn't overly impressed with the gun itself (but it wasn't that bad either) so I got rid of it.
 
Seems like the 9 mm version has issues while the .40 and .45 cal dont. Thanks for the tip. I might of thinking of something else, the CZ 75 B in stainless is hard to beat but a little pricey. Or i could go for the SMith and Wesson M and P Pro in .40 L slide. They have it for $577 at Budsgunshop but these dont come with the carry kit holsters which is something i d like to have at the range.

Does your range allow you to carry in a holster when you are just target shooting? (not a CCW)
 
A friend who owns some land with his own firing range. He sometimes invites me and couple of other friends who all carry with OWB holsters.

Gotcha. If you like the features that come standard on the pro, then a holster is not too expensive and they are much easier to find than they used to be.
