I just picked up a Stainless Smith & Wesson 66-2 with 6" barrel and walnut grips for 300 bucks. The gun looks almost new, there are 3 small scratches in the finish, but other than that it is wonderful. I took the gun out yesterday and it is the best shooter I have right now. Its an absolute blast to shoot...I am in LOVE with .357 now. I was just wondering if I got a decent deal, and also, what age would you say this gun is? I looked on the net but couldn't find anything out about the age at all. Thanks guys.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. I got a 4" 66-2 back in '94 as a police turn-in for $229, and it is my most accurate shooter. Action and trigger are sweeeeet! Have fun with it!

Well, being a 66-2 dates it to somewhere between 1982 and 1986. If you give us the first few digits of the serial #, we can probably narrow it down to the year. $300 is not too terrible a price for a very cherry Model 66.

Thanks for the replies guys, and I have some digets for you Tamara, they are as follows:

AEC1

If you need more than the first 4 let me know. Thanks again.
