What caliber do you like to shoot the most? I am not talking about for self defense, so no my round is better than your round debates. I want to know what caliber you look forward to shooting when you go to the range. For me I really like the 45 ACP. I like the feel of the recoil and the large hole it puts in the paper. I like it so much I had to start reloading it so I could shoot more. Who said reloading saves money anyway? I think that is an excuse us married folks came up with to talk our wifes in to letting buy the equipment :D . I would have to say my next favorite caliber would be 9mm because of the low cost to shoot it.
 
its a toss up between 40 and 45 for me... i think it has more to do w/ the platform than the round, though. pretty tough to beat a 1911 pushing 45's, but if it can be done, a sig spitting 40's can do it...
 
I’d have to say I shoot .45 ACP the most as well. But even then, I switch platforms regularly. One trip it’s the 1911 full-size, another an Ultra Compact, then a Glock 21, and often a Blackhawk convertible. I agree that flingin’ that 230 fatboy downrange is very satisfying.

Every so often I’ll pull out a .44 mag to do some power lifting. Just a box or so is enough to put a grin on my face. I’m considering acquiring a .480 just for a step up, but I just don’t think a.454 would be enjoyable to shoot.

I still get around to cycling back through the .357, 9mm, and .380 every fourth or fifth trip to the range, though. Variety is the spice…
 
45ACP is there any other handgun cartridge ? Not for me! I have two platforms. I carry a usp! I love my 625's!

38 Special, burned about 600 last night.

45 Colt is another one I like to shoot, big gun with big shells making big holes.
 
I'm a revolver guy mostly and the caliber is .44.

.44 Mag cases loaded to the level of a 'hot' .44 spec. in my 29MG

Or just plain .44 specials in the 696.

I shoot as many .44 Mags as everything else put together. Probably .22 LR would be second, with .32 Mag, .45 ACP and .50 cal muzzleloader all getting equal time.
 
I have to break my answer into two categories:
Revolvers: .44 Mag field loads (200-250 grain bullets loaded to 1100 fps)
SemiAutos: .45 ACP w/200 grain bullets again.

ps: If you see me shooting .22 LR then I am trying to refine my trigger control for use on the two big calibers.
 
When it comes to shooting I like them all. :D

My preferences for Recreational shooting with the calibers in my inventory:

4) .38 Spl ----- +++++

5) .22 LR ------ ++++
6) .32 acp ----- ++++

7) .40 S&W ----- +++
8) .357 Sig ----- +++
9) .357 Mag ---- +++
10) .32 S&W L -- +++

11) .22 Mag ---- ++
12) .17HMR ----- +

Another vote for 45acp or Colt. On the other hand, the 40 S&W is the one I don't like to shoot.
 
.357 magnum. maybe .38 +ps. soon Ill being shooting 45 lc and 454 casull, out of a 2 1/2 tube of all things.
 
Look forward to most?? These days, whilst many (all) are enjoyable ... this is my favorite now ....

.45 ACP. What do I actually shoot the most of? .38 wadcutters. Why? Don't have .45 ACP dies.... yet.
