I was at the farm store today, and they had Winchester ammo on sale. I've got a PF9 that I'm expecting back from Kel-Tec Service sooner or later, so I wanted to have various brands to test it out with.
At this store, the ammo is in a locked case. I chatted for a long time with the rather friendly older gentleman who was helping me, and he carried the ammo to the register (again, their policy). The girl rang me up, put it in a bag, and I tossed it out of sight behind the seat in my truck as I had a few more stops to make.
When I retrieved it, I discovered I now had a plastic bag containing 200 loose Winchester rounds, 2 empty boxes, and an intact, neatly packaged box of Remingtons.
I was slightly annoyed by this.
I have been buying all my 9mm online for a few years (my CZech gun will eat anything, but especially likes S&B for some reason) and had no idea they had quite using the little styrofoam trays. The thing that most amazed me is that even 10% off, in the stupid bulk package, it still cost more than the Remington.
Anyway, just wanted to rant a bit, and find out how long WWB has been this way as I repack it into old trays & boxes.
