The bolt action idea might be a sound one.. I'll have to consider that.

As for the spear gun, it seems like a good idea as well.

The original intent of this thread was what most people thought was a useful caliber/gun combo.

Also, it seems to me that most think a rifle has far more usefulness than a pistol from the responses..
