Most folks use such catchers to capture patches that are pushed through the bore with a jag. Only an idiot would pull through the bore, anyhow.

I guess those "idiots" at Otis have no idea what they're talking about.
Not only those idiots at Otis, but the US military and several of or NATO allies issued "pull through" cleaning kits.

Yep idiots.;)

Such liberal application of the "constructive intent" clause would every man a rapist. At some point, this type of coverall prosecution needs to be met with the pointy end of the stick. A thread adaptor is the same as a Gemtech? That's absolute BS and we all know it. The ATF has everyone running scared and afraid of out of context prosecution.

LOL, yeah, all us idiots who think protecting our barrel crowns matter.

I guess my only issue with it's cited intended purpose is just how unnecessary it seems. If I'm not an idiot that day:D and I'm pushing patches thru with a jag I just point the barrel at a garbage can, way easier than attaching all that crap to the end of a barrel. Which of course leads me to believe that this is not a solvent trap, but a wink wink solvent trap, you dig?

Enough of that though, can someone tell me why I'm an idiot for pulling my patches back through the bore???
