Somebody give me the skinny on 6.5 Creedmoor

It always amazes me how folks can find contention when someone tries to agree with them.

other than having a thicker jacket for the base to limit over expansion and a interlocking ring to retain the core to insure penetration.

This particular difference - also the other claim of “reverse taper jackets” - is largely manufactured by the speculative public. Most documentation for ELD-x’s refer to the same AMP jacket being used in both lines. We WANT these bullets to be materially different in construction so we consumers tell ourselves they are different, even when Hornady doesn’t.

I’ve made absolutely no comment here about price of bullets, and frankly, I’m not certain why you’re being so contentious and trying to make something personal out of this. I have absolutely no idea which is even the more expensive bullet between the ELD x or m, because no, I don’t care about pennies on the price of my hunting bullets. I know I get either x’s or m’s cheaper than I get the bergers I use the most.

Obviously you’ve also taken some personal offense to my statement previously (months ago?) that I do believe if a person is spending more for a bipod than they would spend on a Harris, they should be getting more performance, which doesn’t really happen until you ACTUALLY get a better feature set, which doesn’t seem to happen until you get to the Cyke pods… does it suck that they cost so much? Sure. But I’m content to defend my opinion that spending $200 more for an Atlas over a Harris is a waste of money, just for the 45 and 135 degree leg angles, as opposed to the added versatility of the Cyke pod.

It’s a little sad that you’re choosing to make this something personal between us, but I can’t really read why you care to try to put words in my mouth about bullet prices - all of my comments are on bullet performance - and drag up some BS you obviously didn’t like from months ago about bipod features… but I’ll sleep ok tonight.
