I am looking into purchasing a new hunting rifle and wanting it in 6.5 Creedmoor. I am a lefty so finding a rifle is often difficult. I have been looking at the Savage 110 Apex Storm, Browning X-bolt, Tikka T3x, and the Remington CDL SF. I’m wanting a rifle that looks nice and has great accuracy. Any thoughts on any of these rifles would be most appreciated!

For me out of that list it would be a tikka t3x!

I have a tikka t3 lite that’s more accurate than it has any right to be it’s a .308

I like the Tikka quite a bit. But I'd buy the rifle I liked best even if it were a right handed model. The Tikka's tend to be very accurate, but many find the looks too modernistic. I think they look nice, but not everyone agrees.

My brother shoots lefty and tried several options over the years that were left handed, or at least easy for lefty's to use. He found none of the available options at the time suitable. He just started using right handed guns and shoots them from the left side. He is so used to doing it that he still uses them even though there are several good left handed options today. His choice, a right handed Tikka.

I'm right handed, but practice shooting from the left side. When hunting there are times when it is easier to mount the rifle from the left shoulder. With practice it ain't hard.

Welcome to THR. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those rifles, and you certainly can't go wrong with the 6.5 Creedmoor for many hunting applications.

I've never owned a Savage, as I don't like they way they look. Had a Tikka for a while, and though it was a fine rifle; it just didn't have the classic look of a Remington 700 or Model Seven or a Winchester 70. Sold it and don't miss it. You would do well to handle many and make sure you are happy with fit and finish before committing. Buying a rifle is very personal and many criteria are pretty subjective.

Do you plan this as a walkaround rifle, or for shooting from a fixed position/stand?

X-bolt for me, tho I'd happily recommend the Tikka as well. Id like to recommend the Remington, but you really need to check them over closely before buying these days. The Savage would be a good option as well, I like what they have done with the newest models, and its very likely to be the most, or second most accurate rifle of the bunch. Like @Legionnaire, tho I don't really care for the looks, which removes them from my list.

I’m looking for a walk around for deer and elk etc.

Yes, as of right now I have a Ruger American .270 in a right hand and I really like it.. I would just like to have a lefty.
