A couple of years ago I bought a P229 in 357SIG sight unseen on a whim, as it was factory reconditioned at a great price. As much as I wanted to like it I just couldn't get comfortable with the grip and the trigger pull was heavier and grittier than I wanted. I listed it on Armslist about a year ago, but with 40's for sale at low prices and not much of a demand for 357SIGS, I would have had to drop the price lower than I was willing to in order to sell it. I replaced the factory trigger with a reduced reach trigger, but that didn't help much and it became a safe queen. About 6 months ago I was at a LGS where they had one with the E2 grip. It felt fantastic and a few days later I had swapped the grip on mine. A trigger job from the owner of that LGS, who's also a gun smith, turned the trigger from gritty and heavy to incredibly smooth. I own of have owned a number of 357SIGs/40's (Glock 23 and 27, FNS 40, XD 40 compact, XDM 40 and a P320) and it tames the recoil better than any of them. It has never malfunctioned in any way and is accurate. I was at my gun club Saturday with it and every time I shoot it now am thankful it didn't sell.
