Went to bass pro today just because I was in the area. I asked the lady behind the counter if she had any primers. She asked what types. I asked her for SRP, LRP, or SPP. She laughed and said that was unlikely. To my surprised she went to the back and found some LRMP, LPMP, and SRP. Since I have enough magnums. I asked for just some SRP. I scored 600 federal SRP for $4.99 each. She told me they don’t bother updating the website because they are usually gone right away. Im glad I asked after there were none on the shelves or website.

My local Bass Pro had Primers last week with a limit of 1,000. Sportsman's Warehouse had them for $3.49 per 100 but with a limit of 200. $4.99 per hundred is probably not to far off from Bass Pro prices before the pandemic. I'm pretty sure they were pushing close $4.

IIRC; my pre pandemic prices for primers was under $3.00 and closer to $2.50 per C. But I started stocking up when bricks were running $15.00-$18.00. Still have a few of those...

I finally scored 1k srp last weekend at Bass Pro as well. What a great feeling! I walked around the store and felt like everybody was eyeing them. Lol

I walked into a local store a couple weeks back and scored two bricks of CCI SRMP for $23.99 each and four boxes of CCI Maxi-Mag 40gr WMR for $12.99 each! (Well a brick and two boxes of ammo for me and then the same purchase for the Mrs.)

I was shocked - I don’t think I ever saw primers for that price around here even before this debacle.

I wish prepandemic prices had been regularly that low. Around here they have been $35-40 per thousand for quite a few years. Shops would put them on sale for $28-32 per thousand once or twice a year. I started reloading in 2014 and have never seen primers for below $27.99 per thousand in my area

When things get back to normal I hope that everyone remembers the scalpers and do business with the people who were fair during the shortage.

I had someone try and scalp.me for spp in the store yesterday at the ammo cart. He started with how much you willing to pay. I laughed at him and walked away.

I find current you have to ask for everything. Some places put product behind the counter and some put them in the back out of sight. With the current run I guess theft of them has gone way up. Bass pro has them behind the counter but you can see them. Academy had them in the storage area where the go in back.

Tell you what, I sure won't forget. I check many websites frequently for supplies, and the ones with huge markups through all this will never receive a dollar from me, even during the good times.

I remember a scalper from the last panic/shortage. I used to buy from Cheaper Than Dirt for a lot of my reloading/shooting stuff, but when I saw their prices of 22 rimfires (twice the cost of most center fire ammo pre panic) I permanently deleted them from my "vendor file"...

Back during the Obama administration cheaper the dirt was charging more than twice the price for AR’s and AK’s. After that I swore them off. Not buying from them.

After reading several posts on primer prices I have to wonder why the big difference in prices at different areas of the U.S. I can see a small difference, but just in this thread $15-40, that is a big range. I have been loading since 1994 and I have some SPP from that era that is $1.86 per C, some from 2006 $24.99, but last few years prior to this craziness $33 seemed to be the going price. Anyone have an idea other than the LGS all have different markup?
