Sound off if you carry a Glock

LEO.........I carry a 21SF on duty (department issued), and a G30 and a G36 in rotation off duty.

I hate having to work at concealing my weapon and it's hot here in Florida. In the winter when I might be wearing a light jacket I carry a Glock 26. All summer long I carry my LCP in my front pocket.

PURGATORY, That is a Universal Clipdraw. I prefer it over the Glock specific clip.
I too started with the trigger block. Lost it!! Also added a NY2 trigger which affected accuracy. I went back to the stock trigger set up when I added the Cominolli safety.
I also had the Big Dot sights but my 20/15 vision only kicks in beyond arms lenght! I can pick up the orange dot inside the original rear sight more easily.

WINTER G32/SUMMER G33 (Just a couple of my options)

I've had a Glock 30, 23, and 26. I still have the 26 and am loving it, kick myself for trading the 30. The 23 was about on par with my usp compact .40 so I never missed trading the 23. I am lusting for a 19 and will most likely have one by winter.

I have had glocks since 1994, in the beginning I was apprehensive about the lack of a manual saftey. But having the proper holster should dismiss that fear of accidents. If the trigger is covered the weapon cannot fire. This of course is true with any weapon. So why would some be afraid of it going off. I know that in an emergency, with the adrenalin flowing, I don't want another thing to have to think about. I like the orange sight a lot. I have no kids, 4 Grand kids, my guns go away when they are here. And my dog and wife don't have any interest in guns. Im glad because I would have to get them both their own.

Lol. That's great!

Anything to cut corners these days, right Gym? :D

I hear ya, I have a lab I'd love to take hunting, but she's already over 2 and never been around firearms, so I've decided to go ahead and NOT blow out her eardrums.

-And, more to the point, if I started there, where would it end? I'd be buyin her kevlar vests and camo and probably end up givin in and gettin her a rifle to back me up if I miss.

Sometimes it's better NOT to arouse others' interest in the things we are really into, right?

P.S. Can you imagine what this firearm obsession, -err Hobby, would be like if it were cheap....or even, dare I say, FREE?

Just felt the need to share. I mentioned I bought a g19 but I still prefer carrying a 1911. This is still true.

However, I took all the internet advice after running several hundred rounds through it. I decided the trigger was one of things I disliked the most. I spent less than $30 at glockparts and ended up with a lighter trigger pull (and smoother thanks to some polishing), a g17's smooth faced trigger, an extended mag release and an extended slide stop from another glock model. Yeah, yeah I know...some people think using the slide stop as a release is a no-no. I've broken my left hand 3 times, so I've spent a few shooting outtings using only one hand which led me to appreciate using the slide stop to release the slide when I am required to.

I went shooting and I like it much, much better now. The trigger seems to be way crisper on the break now. The initial take-up feels way better, as well. I still prefer my 1911 as I'm more comfortable with it and it just carries better...but I am much happier with my glock than when it was stock. I think now I'll add some heine straight 8's or some XS standard dots and I'll have a keeper.

I just got my girlfriend back into shooting. We're getting our CCW's together, and after trying several makes and models of firearms, she's decided that she simply won't carry anything that I already have (G27 is too big, she hates the J-frame, etc, etc). She just has to have a Kahr PM9. Well of course, now I want one too...

You see where this is going, don't you? ;)

Absolutely, Sarge!

It's enough that I'm always saving for the next absolutely-have-to-have new toy.

-And I have three of those on my list (ok,more), but can only afford one at a time.

If I expose someone else to the addiction,..............no......no that just won't do.

Lotta good this Economics thing turned out to be, right?

Now it's all caving in, as many tried to warn, and I'm nowhere near satisfied with my collection yet.

I carry a 1911 now because it's thinner, but a 27 was my first carry weapon. I still have it and like it. It has a LaserMax guidrod laser in it, which I also like.

I picked up a G36 for concealed carry, but it is a bit large for that except IWB. It stays at home in favor of my Keltec P3AT most of the time. While I have put 300 rounds through it with no exceptions, it is the least accurate gun I own. At 20 yards, it is tough to get a good group. It could be the shooter, but I am more accurate with my S&W 38 6" and Ruger P95DC 9mm.

Ugly and Lovely

I’ve owned handguns for many years but none compare to the reliability and accuracy of a Glock.
I hate their general appearance but I love and trust their performance.

I own both the G26 and the G36 and I appreciate each for these reasons.
They are both concealable and easy to draw if the time comes.
The G26 is great for street defense. You have a compact firearm with the capability of handling large capacity magazines.
The G36 with it’s 45 caliber round is perfect for home defense. Odds are you won’t need to shoot often AND a 45 caliber round could probably go through just about any door or wall.

My choice, Take the G26 on your walk-abouts through town and keep your G36 close to your bed side.

Be smart, and be safe

I carry a Glock 36 in a kholster IWB holster or in a fobus OWB holster depending o what I wear.

Don't trust Glocks

20+ years of experience in the USN and I just don't trust them when it counts.

Last time I had a Glock 17 in my hand I was upside down tumbling through the air. Cleaned, lubed, test fired, but no boom when it counted. Wasn't the ammo. No operator error.

Never had a problem with Sig, FNH, Springfield, H&K, and Walther. Even crappy Warsaw Pact stuff never let me down.

Glocks suck! I would rather meet my God than have a Glock in my hand.

Va herder

So, what happened?
