Sound off if you carry a Glock

I don't carry it yet, but I have a Glock 27 (with factory night-sights) coming in that should be here Wednesday. I've already bought GAP finger rest extensions, Talon grip, and a DeSantis pocket holster. I already have an ankle holster and MTAC IWB holster from previous guns. The G27 should be a lot easier to conceal than the XD45 Compact I have been carrying. I can't wait! :D

There can only be two...

Hi Pony Express,

I have a G21 and G30, both 3rd Generation, and both with factory night sights. Both have threaded LWD barrels, for my Gemtech Blackside w/LID.

I had a Kimber Desert Warrior w/threaded barrel, but it wouldn't work with the Blackside. So, I traded it for my two new Glocks... Now, I couldn't be happier.

I have 6 10rd magazines for use by the G30, when I carry it in it's Fobus ankle holster. The rest of the time, it shares 25 13rd magazines with the G21. I carry it in a Tuck This II, IWB by DeSantis, or in a large Blackhawk fanny pack, or sometimes, a Blackhawk Serpa holster.

Both pistols, with their light rails, are great with either the TLR-2 or M6X. Very versatile, reliable, rugged, and totally dependable... Accuracy is great, right out of the box... They are the best .45acp combat pistols in the world- even better than the vaunted 1911, of which I had 10 over the last forty years... Compared to the Glock, the 1911 is far distant in my life's rearview mirror...

The G21 and G30, both in .45acp, are superb. I have small hands, but have had absolutely no problems with either pistol. Some may say they're too large to conceal easily, but I'm 5'6", and weigh 183, and have no problem with carrying either...

Hope this helps...

GlockMan1949, out...

G23 is the best carry for me.. hi-cap and comfortable for all day everyday carry..

Pony,

Glock 26.

Mine has a grip reduction done by Bowie Tactical Concepts and it fits perfect in my hand. Hinnie night sights, NY-1 + 3.5 connector, and FIST IWB holster. 10 and 12 shot Glock mags loaded with +P+ Winchester 127 gr. Ammo.

I can actually carry it in the appendix postion with a loose T-shirt. And since I use another Glock 26 in local IDPA and a Glock 17 in state matches, I'm well versed on using it!

45 ACP is THE manstopper in a reasonable pistol caliber. G30 is an excellent delivery system for 10 of those in a slightly fat, but carryable package. It never leaves my side.

If you dont carry a glock, why is that?

Because I don't like anything about them.

I will give you they are reliable and if they were the only reliable pistol out there, then I would carry one. I guess what I'm saying is that they have one good characteristic, and it's one that many other gun manufactures also have. So for my taste I see nothing they do that many other manufactures aren't doing better.

That's just me, and you asked.

EDIT:
I guess I'm wrong, they do have another good characteristic. Their finish is tough as nails, or at least tougher than many of their competitors. Guess they can stay ugly longer. :neener:

I used to carry my S&W 360sc all the time but it's disassembled waiting for refinishing! I now find myself carring my Para CCW most of the time lately.
My SP101 and PF9 make it into the rotation too!

NAA 22Mag or P32 always in front pocket too!

Glock 27 or 23 with night sights and Shielded Holster.

Once my Kimber is broken in, it will run in the rotation.

26 here. I can't hit with an M&P, I don't like the top heavy and slushy trigger on the XDs, and I love the simplicity and all around design qualities of the Glock. 9mm because it's a good caliber (at least for a subcompact), and it's the original and most trouble free chambering in the Glock lineup. The Glock 26 offers me the confidence not only to hit my target, but also to stop it, and the adequate capacity that I don't have to sweat the idea of running out of ammo. I honestly cannot imagine a better carry weapon for what I personally value in a weapon. YMMV

Glock 17 for me. I wanted something simple so when the fine motor skills go it's just draw and fire. I wanted something reliable so when I pull the trigger it makes noise. Finally, I wanted to take multiple assailants without reloading.

For me the Glock was the only way to go.

Kind of.

Couldn't find a Glock 17 locally so I opted for the Sigma. I carry it small of the back and love it.
