Social media/Youtube star 22 Plinkster has a new special edition of the CCI Stingers. Just got an email from MidSouth saying they are available. Interesting concept. Reminds me of the Troy Landry (Swamp People) edition of the CCI mini/maxi mags and Savage MkII rifle special editions.

Does anyone think these have a chance of being collectible one day? The description describes standard Stingers except they have a different "22" stamp on it versus the regular CCI "C".

Plinkster recently did a youtube video at CCI, walking through the manufacturing process.

I like watching his youtube vids, not sure these guys will have the same collectors value down the road that tv stars had in days gone by.

Never heard of her.

Understood, not everyone's cup o' tea!

He initially became internet famous by posting trick shots on YouTube using mainly rimfire stuff. I'd say hes an influencer in the 2A community especially for younger folks. I'm not specifically interested in the ammo, I guess getting a box would be alright but wont be placing a special order for it. Just wanted opinions. People that like different stuff, collect cartridges or that bought zombie stuff 5 years ago I guess would be the target audience for their marketing. Or if you just really like the guy.

There is a lot more risk than reward with speculative ammo collection. I hate to say this, but speculative sneaker collecting probably has less risk. Putting that same sum of money in the stock market will generally be a better investment than both.

Twenty five years from now, would someone like to own a pristine box of "Stangers" to remember their childhood? Probably. Are there other keepsakes or collectibles that may mean more to them? Probably.

I have owned lots of things in life that are only valued by me making them collectable only to me - buy them if you want them.

Sometimes one begets the other. I never would have thought a general purpose and practical rifle like my 1894SS in 44 mag would have become collectible. To me it is just a handy corrosion resistant resistant rifle for the humid south. No idea why they discontinued it and it became collectible. They should still be making it for all the reasons I just gave.

I don't see him having the longevity it would take for that to happen. It's not like he's John Wayne or Clint Eastwood or something. I'm not even sure the Troy Landry "Choot 'Em" boxes are, or will be, collectible. I have two or three of them in .22LR, and one in .22WMR, but I bought them to, well, "choot 'em."

Likely about as collectible as the children’s teeth parents save as they fall out.

If it means something to you, keep it. If you are saving it to later make money off of it, look into other investments.
