Speer 2042 Deep Curl ( .308 Dia ) Have you run it thru a Semi Auto?
This is a 170/gr Flat Nose Soft Point.
Ref. 2041 Hot Core.

I can get these cheap from RMR.

I realize these are for a 30-30
I searched and found a couple of old topics here.

I need a bunch of bullets to play with in my Socom 16 / M1A

The soft point is attractive for two reasons.
The rare case I have to shoot at a range that doesn't allow FMJ.
And
I prefer to load bullets that I can hunt with.

I would like to know if they will cycle reliably in a semi auto.

If anyone is worried about my hunting activities for this bullet....

If any game were to be taken with this rifle, it would be hogs or coyotes.
I have no intentions of putting any glass on it.
200 yards would be my max performance range.
Currently, pigs are coming in at less than 100 yards.

If anyone has any load data to share, that would be well received.

I played with Quick Loads a little last night.
I'm still searching through LoadData.com that I signed up for.
Speer doesn't have anything on line.
I'm not buying their manual just for this bullet.
I have plenty of others that don't have data already. LOL

Thanks for looking.

I don't have the specific information you're looking for, but I used to load a lot of 170 grain Winchester Silvertips for my M1A Standard and killed a few pigs with 'em.

I don't have the load data anymore, but I used IMR-4064 at @ 2350 fps. I never had any function problems and accuracy was decent enough for hunting, but nothing to brag about. Most of my hunting shots were under 50 yards, with a max of maybe 125 yards.

I too am curious about this. I just bought some of these. I was thinking of trying them in 300 bo.
I haven't been able to find any info on the web.

If I can't get them to work I can akways load for my 30-30.
