Here's my Spiller and Burr .36 .
For a little medium sized gun this is one fun revolver :) . It's like a small Remington 58 , but no forcing cone protrusion and is VERY LOUD because of it . :what:
And a mainspring that will pop any cap on earth seated or not !
Pietta done real good to make this model , indeed , its like one of my favorite guns to hunt bunnys with , very accurate .
Grips are Fancy Black Walnut :

Could you explain the strip of gloss?
You make such nice grips and most of them of have a glossy look.
Are they all finshed the same way and what is that glossy finish? :)

The last of those guns I saw had the Italian markings removed and a $25,000 price tag put on. Still smelled of pizza sauce.

Yes, they are all finished the same way, high gloss laquer , my preference only . Impossible to get the depth of this laquer with Oils .
Most of those grips have between 50 and 100 coats . The stuff I use dries to near nothing after the vapors have left the building . It takes great amounts of time to do these grips this way . Some like Oils , I do too , just not on my fancy woods . Rifles , well , a whole nuther animal , I use mostly oils .

Sincerely, Das Jaeger :)

thats a rediculous price $25,000 !
Someoen was flat out tryin to rip someone off .
Even a real one only fetches a few thousand if mintly condition .

Das Jaeger , mine smells exactly like PIZZA , and is priced ackordingly , I paid $230 ?

LOL,I LOVE mine, but they are THE most faked guns on the ''originals'' market.Saw an episode of antiques Roadshow once where a farmer had this story about a bunch of hippies in a VW micro bus paying him with an ''old gun'',for staying in his barn. The dealer said how much do you figure the old guns worth.and the farmer replied he'd done some research, and the gun was right off the Merimac,or CSS Virginia,or somesuch, and was the dealer interested in buying it?
The dealer replied that the farmer either got took,or was trying to take him [the dealer],as the shoe polish someone had used to ''AGE'' the holster was coming off on his hands,and...flipping up the loading lever,he says I don't believe the South was in the habit of marking it's guns ''black powder only, made in Italy''.The old farmer pretty much melted, and oozed right off the stage...

Well, it was definitely worth watching. It was right between some old lady who's bedside table was worth six thousand and some old jasper who's little painting of wildflowers alongside of a road was by some famous nineteenth century American artist. The look on that farmer's face as it turned from avarice to disappointment alone would have been worth the price of admission. You could almost see the ''thought bubble'' which read ''hee hee this city slicker thinks he's soooo smart'' POP right over his head. Must see TV, man!
