When facing the rear of the gun does it come out left to right or right to left?
I have seen both ways on different guns.
I have a 50% chance of getting it right, but I never had much luck gambling.:)

Called Springfield and CS hummed and hawed and said one direction then said on no the other direction, so I don't have 100% confidence in their answer.....

Measure the dovetail notch. If it's tapered, the sight will drive out the wider end.
This! I put Tritium on my XD several years ago and I don't remember for sure without measuring. I think it came out to the right. I do remember that even going the proper direction these were the hardest sights I have ever changed, they stressed my sight pusher to the limit. Penetrating oil and overnight in the deep freeze helps.

I offer you the gunsmith's sight pusher for Kimbers. . . Link

if you're lucky you might get to see some scuff marks on one side which makes it the side that was pushed in first.

It appears the right side is a hair wider so Springfield appears to have got it correct left to right (from the rear).
Just had me concerned when they flipped their choice.

Agree 100%

The new EGW plate went in easy ( I had it in the freezer overnight), getting the XD sight out required me leaning on a 1/2" ratchet to get it started.

Way more force required than I would have expected. (and almost more than I was willing to use)
