Has anyone come across or fired this model? It is simply called the "Loaded" model. Looks pretty interesting and I'm thinking of buying if I can located one.

I have never had one, so take my info with a grain of salt, but from what I've heard it seems to be an overall good quality firearm with excellent fit and finish. It certainly is handsome. One thing to keep in mind is that it has the two piece Springfield guiderod, which I don't like. I would replace it with a GI guiderod personally, it's simpler to field strip and it just looks better (my opinion). I would be surprised if you would have any issues with it. Springfield generally does a good job.
Good luck with your decision

I have the loaded in black steel but it's a 45 cal. As recommended I would change the guide rod for easier fields tripping, otherwise it is a great gun.

I've had one for the past year. About 5k rounds in USPSA matches.

Shoots nice and is accurate but it was (still is) the absolute loosest, most rattly gun I have.

I changed out the guide rod, ignition parts and almost every other small part. Now has nice trigger and is still reliabe and accurate, but still rattles like a baby toy.

I have a Springfield "Loaded" 1911 9mm in stainless and I really like it. It shoots as good as I can. It has become my favorite just go shooting gun. 1000s of rounds. (guessing 5000) Only issue was the link pin became really loose (it would fall out) and needed to be replaced. Springfield sent me one.
I think you will really like it.

Guide rod is sort of a pain when stripping (wrench required) but since it is a range gun I don't worry about it.

I did have one of those. My experience was unfortunately not as positive as other owners have reported. Sloppy slide to frame fit, barrel not properly fitted, unreliable and inaccurate. I would not be interested in buying another. My experience with full sized Kimber, Dan Wesson and STI Trojan 9MMs was just the opposite. All of those were excellent.....ymmv

BTW, I have handled SA Range Officer models in both 9MM and .45. Not as flashy as the stainless Loaded perhaps, but the ROs look like a better gun to me. Barrel/slide/frame fit on the ROs was solid, better trigger. Less money too I think. I like the 9mm 1911s and might try an RO one day, but never another Loaded....

I've owned the .45 ACP model for almost two decades. Great gun, tight as a drum, has never had a single FTF or FTE in over 6,000 rounds, which for a .45 ACP, is pretty impressive.

We have several SA 9mm 1911 Loaded Target in SS. Our two competition guns (we have backups) have seen a total of 45K rounds with two failures: firing pin stop and rear target sight. The trigger is the only thing that might need aftermarket attention. My wife's gun started life as 3.25 lbs and other than adding an over-travel adjust has been great. the other triggers varied somewhat. When I had the rear sight fixed on my gun by SA under warranty I had the custom shop do a 3 lb. trigger with all new tool steel parts - they did a great job as one would expect given their reputation.

The guns are more accurate than we are, but we shoot steel challenge so we don't need bullseye accuracy and my reloads are very soft which might not be the best recipe for the smallest groups.

I've had a 9mm one for a number of years now.

Its always been a tight gun, well made, accurate and reliable.

Not quite as good as my STI Trojan IMO but the finish is better

I would take a look at the Kimber Custom 2 Stainless models also. I have one in 9mm and 10mm, both target models, and they are a fantastic gun for the money. Should be similar in price to the Springer Loaded models.

I have the same one as Morgo pictures. Yes they are good guns and accurate, and mine has been 100% reliable with 9mm ball. I used this as a range gun. Remember that they are heavy - 41 oz. But that tames the recoil. I am interested in their RO Champion, because it is lighter. But I love having adjustable rear sights. I just sent the slide to Dawson to put a fiber optic front sight on.
SA makes good stuff, and when I call them with a question their customer service has been good as well.
