i am wanting to trade this locally for a iphone 3Gs and $200 does anyone think that this is a fair trade for someone wanting this pistol

A STOCK XD is worth $350 all day long.

It looks like it's been customized by Rich Dettlehouser of Canyon Creek Custom.

The rear sight work alone runs $300. The front sight runs another $40, the action job $135, the magwell is $100 - $125, the extended mag base pad, $35. There are probably more items inside the gun that add to the package. Even with just these numbers, the total is $960

For CCW, I'd lose the magwell. For carry or competition, I'd contact www.kytac.com for either an IWB or OWB rig.

It's worth at least $800, but as these posts show, it might be tough to get that. Why? Because few people know the value, much less appreciate what a gem of a gun your customized XD truly is.

And if the OP trades it for a PHONE, then he doesn't appreciate it, either.

That is a custom XD done by Rich at Canyon Creek.

New they are worth over $1000! I'd say you did pretty good on the trade.

Well, looking at what you have and what you traded, I think you made out good. As several posters above have stated, you traded an $850 gun for a $850 gun, so that pritty good.

Also, you now have a sidearm that you can CCW if you wish to, adding that extra functionality. I doubt a Carbon 15 pistol makes a good CCW choice!

I would *NOT* trade it for a iPhone and $200.

As for the grip-tape: I have skate-board grip tape on the side of my XD as well. It improves handling and control of the gun when firing. It may not look like a piece of art, but for me function is more important than form.

He didn't ask how much it cost he asked how much it's worth. No one is going to pay $850-$1000 for a HS2000.

The 3Gs iphone goes for$200-$300 not $50-$100 as mention previously, so the math calculations would be a little different. However, I wouldn't make that trade even though I'm not a big fan of the XD (especially with adjustable sights).

Depending on the iphones memory size they go for 400-600 used. A $200 dollar iphone 3gs would be a steal. On craigslist here they go for up to $700. If you can sell the xd for $350, an iphone 3gs and $200 would be worth easily $600, so that would be the best way to go. Sell the ifail, i mean iphone for $400 if you dont want it.
