I sent this message via e-mail to Springfield at 9:59 AM today, I received these two replies back at 11:49 AM today. Pretty darn good response time!

I have purchased a 4" XD-40 service model and am curious as to how much a stainless slide would cost? Also, how do I go about buying one? Additionally, are 12 round mags available? If so, where do I buy them and how much are they?

"At the present time, there are no slides, frames or barrels available for purchase separately for the XD handguns. We are using all parts produced to build complete firearms to meet consumer demand for these handguns.

Also got this word on the XD-45 in .45 Gap and .45ACP. Looks like Springfield may offer both at some time.


Factory .45GAP models should begin shipping by the end of the year. .45ACP models are still in R&D.
