I'm thinking about getting one of these for walking and potting bunnies and skillet shots on quail. The light weight and low price are the big attractions. Anybody got one? How bad is the trigger?
TIA
The M6 is my favourite small & upland game gun. It's accurate & reliable, small & light, it takes down and reassembles in seconds without tools, and it's got a storage compartment for extra ammo!
So what if it looks like a shop project? On my last trip I fired three shots and took 3 Sage Grouse.
The trigger is... unusual. I would not put up with that trigger on a 10-22, an 870, or a 700. But on the M6, it's fine.
My only gripe (are you listening, Springfield?) is that the take-down pin doesnt have a hole for a key-ring, but 15 minutes in the machine shop will fix that. I bought a generic 1/4" pin with a key-ring already in it, put in the detent groove on a lathe, and tied it to the barrel with a piece of nylon string so I dont lose it.
They have a new model out that has a normal trigger and the stock folds to the side. I have two of them and older orignal model and a newer one made by CZ. Great guns and they shoot far better than they look like they would.
The trigger pull on both of mine is nice. I can hit golf balls at 100 yards (most of the time) and have shot some 1 inch groups at 100 yards. (Quality ammo and a lot of good luck)
You stated they have one with a normal trigger. I looked at the Springfield
site and I dont see it. Do you know of a link? I they have changed the trigger I want one of these.
