I found this at a gun show this past weekend. Being a fan of CZ pistols (and well executed clones), a fan of Springfield Armory, and a fan of plumb colored bluing, this gun was a slam dunk purchase.

As most of you know this is a clone of a CZ made by Tanfoglio in Italy and imported by Springfield Armory from some time in either the late 80's or early 90's (the accounts I have read vary) until 1993ish when the relationship between the two companies soured. EAA currently imports these guns in the US.

This gun was used, no box or manual. 2 12 round mags 1 I think is original and 1 is aftermarket and they threw in a gross nylon type holster which I 'threw in' the trash. Out the door $397.00. It is in amazing condition with one small blemish on the frame which I found when I stripped it for initial cleaning. There was no sign of any powder residue inside of the gun a all. The frame is the only part with a full serial number the barrel and the slide (maybe just the barrel...it's not in front of me) have a 3 or 4 digit number on them that have nothing in common with the serial on the frame...maybe not all orig. parts. The grips look like the the grips in pictures I've seen of this model, but somebody has written CZ75 on the inside of each with marker, so I would think they are replacements. Fits like a glove in the holster for my CZ 75D PCR.

I shot 100 rounds at the range with decent accuracy (more my fault than the gun's) and the only malfunction was when one of the bullets did a nose dive in the mag and caused a feeding issue. The bullet length may have been a wee bit long for the gun. They were the first .40 reloads I've done on my LnL AP press so one out of spec round might have snuck in with the good ones.

I've been hunting for a good shape full sized CZ 75 or clone for a while. I would have preferred to have found this in 9mm, but other than that I am very happy with this gun

Nice, I just put a hard Chrome TZ75 series 88 Tanfoglio in 9mm on layaway last week. Should be almost the exact same gun aside from caliber and finish. I had one before and regreted trading it for a while. I can't wait to pick mine up.
Congrats and good luck with yours! Tanfoglio makes great pistols.

Rounds nose-diving is typically caused by weak mag springs. Replacement springs (for the CZ or Witness) from Wolff should work fine.

(It could also be that the spring is installed wrong in the mag, with the top of the spring under the rear of the follower rather than the front. check that before you order new springs.)

I'd jump on a similar gun at that price.
