For you guys that have them, how well are the sights regulated on yours? Mine shoots really high.
Mine is a tad low at 15 yards but shoots to the left even though I drifted the rear sight pretty far to the right.

MCB66- did you get 2 magazines with yours? Nice mint condition BM - THanks for the picture!
Unfortunately for me the surplus sales sources kidnap one of the mags.. for later sales at extra profit.
Good to see that you like those grips. I had them for about 10 or, 15 years and never used them. I can’t remember where I got them. It took some time to find them, I had almost forgot got where I had put them. This is my day! I picked up the gun yesterday. Today I received a Christmas gift from a Mr. Bihm. Sent from below the Michigan border down in Louisiana. A beautiful set of exotic wood grips for the gun. Thanks Gunny!
Since I had to disable the mag safety anyway, On go the grips and a new test firing.

I wish the wife appreciated guns as much as I do.
Heartily concur.Star is about my favorite to collect. Way under appreciated.
Mag. safety: One minute is required to watch YouTube. Look, I don't even have a fixed vice (except watching tall slender ladies in yoga pants).
On my Star BM, several taps with a punch on the fat roll pin at the bottom of the left grip (remember, it's a mag safety), and the fat pin came loose. Next, remove the right grip. Can't any adult handle that?
With that same " fat roll pin at the bottom of the left grip" now Out, you just wiggle the tiny metal bar (on right side of grip frame) for a few seconds, and then it comes out.
Amazingly simple.
Even simpler that putting a pin retainer plate into an AK action.
JNO1:
Both grips had been removed before I started using the punch.
My description was mistaken--Sorry about that. Foggy memory and felt run down, the day after the first vaccine injection to prevent "shingles" (The Shot Nurse, Cordova TN).
That was the only day I ever handed my car keys (instead of member badge) to the private gun club desk at MSSA, simply to swap for an Action Pistol badge and gate key!
