I cannot decide which one I want. I can only get one. I currently own a CZ 75 stainless and a CZ 75 SA single action. I sold my P01 because the others were more fun to shoot at the range.

So the question is, do I want a 1911 or a SP 01. The .45 cost more, but the SP-01 is not much different than what I already own.

I'm leaning towards my first 1911, but what do you think?

For reference, I have owned Glocks 23, 19, 34, Taurus 92, 99, Beretta 92's, and a Para 14.45. I liked the Para, and even liked the LDA trigger, but I did not like the big 14 rd double stack mag.

Sure Thing,

No secret I'm a CZ guy. But, variety is the spice of life. I think you need to get that 1911. Only 2 things can happen:

1) You'll love the 1911
2) You'll appreciate your CZ's even more

I have had some top shelf 1911's, still have a few. Never thought I would like any platform more than a 1911. I rarely shoot my 1911's any more.

You owe it to yourself to get a 1911 style pistol. You might not sell off your CZs like you did your glocks but I can assure you, you will not be disappointed with a good 1911 pistol.

I think I will really like the 1911. I cannot see the SP01 out shooting my 75 Single Action. To be honest, if I could get the Spartan in 9mm, I would not even be second guessing the decision.

That is my approach. Even my CZ pistols are varied! A 40B, a PCR, and a 97B! I would get the 1911 in your position, since the SP01 would fit nearly the same bracket as the other two CZs you have. Definitely get the SP01 eventually if you can swing it, but the 1911 would be a really great gun to have as well, and might make you really appreciate how great your CZs are.

Sure Thing,

CZ's are very accurate, but I would pit my Kimber Custom Classic and even my parts bin Norinco against my CZ's, accuracy wise.

I doubt you will be disappointed with the accuracy of the Spartan.

I have both and I have a hard time deciding which to shoot at my weekly matches. My CZ is the Shadow version. Both are dead realiable and shoot anything I feed them. If you already have a CZ get the Spartan. My buddy bought his at thunder mountain. They throw in a trigger job which is nice but not really necessary and a roll of fiber optic thread.

Have you factored in the difference in the cost of ammo?

I would think that factor would be a significant consideration unless you plan on shooting Wolf or something along those lines.

STI makes a model in 9mm, you know. You can have your 1911 and feed it too.

I have 2 1911s in 9mm, both Springfields. STI was at the top of my short list, but before I could order one, I ran across a NIB Springfield "Loaded" 9mm 1911 Target and bought it. A couple of months later, I found a pristine fixed sighted model of the same gun for an outstanding price and got that one too, so I no longer needed a 1911 in 9mm.

The impulse 1911 I just won off of Gunbroker.

As some of you have seen, I have been looking at Rock Island Tacticals, Match, and STI Spartans. I knew the CD was pretty much a Rock Island Tactical, but seems to be a bit more expensive.

Well, I found this new one, and has had some upgraded parts added to it. It was a project the seller lost intrest in, and never shot it.

Shipping was dropped to $15 since he lives just across the state line.

Seems like a pretty good deal, any thoughts.......but don't hurt my feelings
