Hi all,

Does anyone in the membership know of an after market 10-22 barrel marker that will ream the chamber specifically for the CCI Stinger? Volquartsen and Kid will not, it appears these companies do not have the correct chamber reamer and shooter interest in this application must be low.

My 10-22 shoots Stingers around 4” 100 yard groups, however, I have read others get under an inch groups with standard Bentz chambers and standard velocity long rifle ammo with Volquartsen and Kid.

Any assistance in locating a custom barrel chambered for the Stinger would be greatly appreciated.

I thought the big difference between a barrel suitable for regular .22 LR and a barrel suitable for .22 Stinger was rate of twist of the rifling, one turn in 16" for .22 LR and 18" or 19" published for .22 Stinger.

Rifles chambered by the factory in .22 short have been found to have rates of twist of one turn in 16", 20" and 24" out of a sample of four guns. Supposedly 1 turn in 20" is best to stabilze .22 Short.

Most modern ".22 LR Only" barrels are one turn in 16".
Most ".22 S, L, LR" barrels have a twist rate that is a compromise between what is best for .22 Long Rifle and best for .22 Short, 17" to 19" depending on manufacurers and within a manufacturer, year of manufacture.

May be the ideal would be to rechamber a .22 Short barrel with a .22 Stinger chamber reamer?
