I truly believe that regardless of which side a person stands on the issue of the
2-A, we can all AGREE that the economy is horrible and there are more important issues than gun control that the millions of dollars could used for instead of trying to deny 2A rights to lawful citizens.;)

Firstly, everyone needs to use logic rather than emotion when arguing issues of great importance.:)

Cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, etc PROVE that gun control does NOT REDUCE crime. CRIME by definition is a violation of the law. A criminal is a person that INTENTIONALLY partakes in UNLAWFUL activities. Logically, we can agree that criminals (as proven by statistics in the aforementioned cities) do NOT care about or follow the law. Equally, this means the only people hindered by a law are NOT the PEOPLE the law is allegedly designed to effect. :banghead:

It is simple logic that everyone can follow, understand and agree. :)

Obama and all the rest CLAIM the big concern is stopping more random attacks by mentally-ill people and not simply pushing a political agenda. :fire:

IF this is true, please PROVE it. Please consider this as ultimatum from the American people on BOTH sides of 2A issue...... :)

Put an immediate STOP to all actions that concern restricting the lawful ownership of firearms.

INSTEAD spend the MILLIONS OF DOLLARS currently being spent on gun control to actually do something DIRECTLY related to the care and treatment MENTAL ILLNESS. :)

Fund studies from respected non-partisan institutions, assist families with tax-breaks for expenses related to the long-term care of mentally-ill family members and other things that will ACTUALLY make a difference.:)

It is TIME to politician to PROVE they CARE about the CITIZENS and NOT just their POLITICAL AGENDAS. :)

Only somewhat because I know it will never happen.

How absolutely GREAT would it be to have a person say these things on television TO THE PRESIDENT in a LIVE BROADCAST town hall meeting?

It will never happen and I would be genuinely AFRAID of what would happen to the guy for doing it BUT it would be great......

In all seriousness though, I think it's about time that Americans stop our in-fighting, put our pathetic leaders (from BOTH sides) on the spot and TELL them what they need to do for us!

If I ever had a chance that is pretty darn close to what I would say.

Right now the debate is serving as a convenient distraction for the administration which has maneuvered by distraction from the get go.

Don't look at;
Benghazi
The economy
Obama-Care's initiation
Their behind the scenes moves on immigration
Epic fails in foreign policy - Africa, Pacific Rim, South America...
Weak dollar
War footing level national debt

No, Look at these horrible objects and listen to our descriptions of their inherent evil but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

I think the proof of it being a distraction is that second and third string players are leading the charge. Were the administration's hearts truly in this one we'd be getting their tried and true "full court press" on the issue.

Expense and waste be damned - the topic is serving exactly the purpose they need it for. A go-to plug issue for 24 news machines to insert in support of the administration's desire to draw attention away from much, much larger crises.

yeah, don't look behind the curtain...

I've used reason. valid statistics and all that good stuff. All I get is emotion back or you can make stats say anything you want or I don't like using stats etc etc etc. Can't argue with emotional arguments. But I will still try
