Ok, so at first glance this is a "save lives" thing as opposed to a RKBA thing. However I think we all appreciate the link between the frequency of mass murders and the chances of losing 2nd Amendment rights.
This occured to me as they were flashing the mug shots of individuals involved in some of the mass shootings over the past few years during. The perps are often smirking. Further in the news coverage the psycologist they bring forth say outright that the ultimate movtivation for many of these mass shootings is the infamy they expect to recieve. They even may have a desire to "top" the others who they are trying to emulate by having a higher bodycount or by going after even more tragic victims (such as school children) or using scarier weapons ("nasty" black guns).
To that end I believe we should pressure the media and legislation to cease making these people famous. You can cover the incident and shove microphones into the faces of the bereaved if you absolutely must. But there isn't any need to know the killers name, show their picture a thousand times, go over how very hard they had it and how society was mean to them, discuss over their manifestos, or post their crappy poetry.
I think this could significantly improve things without costing people anything.
I know I'm not the first person to think of this. So I'm wondering if any of you know of petitions or organizations for this, or could do some wordsmithing for a new petition or drive.
