Alright, so the girlfriend is asking for a pocket knife. What are some suggestions for one to get her?????

It's probably going to stay in the purse the majority of the time, and her only criteria is that "its a little girly/feminine, but not super girly".... whatever that means

so help me out guys and gals

My wife is partial to her Kershaw folder. Its pretty slim and has a nice sharp blade.

My wife carries a this one:

Darn useful.

This is the nice set of steel, LED light and all (though I don't see tweezers and toothpick here), that I gave my girlfriend and which she never carries because she is afraid any knife is a weapon and she'll be arrested.

Far from tactical. Is that what you want?

My wife is the same. She loves the Kershaw Leek. She lost her one, so has borrowed mine until such time as I go out and buy her a new one.

Of course I already got her the rainbow leek she wanted, but she says that is too pretty to scratch up so off I go to get her a new one.

It is pretty slim, light weight, and fits the hand nicely. Well worth a look at and comes in a number of colours from titanium finish, black, pink, smoky blue, smoky red, smoky black and so on.

good suggestions so far. keep 'em coming!

I'm thinking more of a single blade folder instead of the Swiss army ones.

My main folder I've been carrying for about 4 or 5 years has been the Leek and love it, so I've thought about that rainbow Leek for her. Only thing is that assisted opening.... she can be clumsy some time, dont need any fast moving sharp blades around. haha

You'll have to tell us something about her. Plenty of "girly" horseback riders out there or "girly" fashion designers/builders or "girly" martial artists so without a little more information than she's a girly mammalian bipedal quadruped we can't really give much good advice.

Also, you're going to have to explain just how much you're willing to spend. We might recommend something out of your price ranged without knowing it.

My wife has carried a Santa Fe Stoneworks mother of pearl customized Spyerco Harpy clipped to her bra strap at times and has well over a hundred knives to choose from, but she considers the Harpy "girly".

Not a folder, but maybe might still work as a purse knife, and that is the CRKT Folts Minimalist. I gave my (5'1, 65 yo, very dainty) Mom the wharncliffe version for her hikes with her church ladies group, and she loves it. More to the point, almost every lady in the group has purchased one now. It is small, comfortable and evidently more girly that I would have imagined. Here be the link, matey: Folts Minimalist

Both of my girlfriends have Kershaw Scallions that I gave them. They were tickled and felt like they were right up their alley. The scallion's a little curvier than the Leek, and also fits the average woman's hands better, I think. Very affordable, made in America, high quality knives. I carry the Leek.

The Opinel folders...

... seem to go over well with the ladies & @ +/- $10 from knifecenter you really can't go wrong. Most common reactions are "It's neat!" & 'It looks like a folding paring knife.". The smaller SAKs,the Gerber ULST or the smaller Spydercos are also possibilities.
As an aside keyring lights (Photon, etc) make nice stocking stuffers*wink*.

Both of my daughters and an old girlfriend had matching Kershaw Chives in pink with their names engraved on the side. It's pretty girly, but they are pretty sharp, too.

Really really hard to go wrong with Kershaw. Rainbow Leek, or Rainbow Shallot for a larger one... (Rainbow for the GirlyFactor) The Kershar Centofante with the rainbow and Black Wharncliffe blade is real nice

The Kershaw "Talon II" is sweet but not too girly...

ProTech makes a Runt3 automatic <2" that is kinda neat.

Good Luck (and pick up some bandaids!)

Yeah any of the KErshaw onion series knives are great. Three basic sizes available (Chive, Scallion, and Leek, from smallest to largest), find whichever fits her hand the best. And a lot of finish options, including colors, rainbow, stainless, etc.
