Aside from the obligatory 33rd mag inside a Glock 19, what are my options for a 9mm pistol with a high round capacity? Size isn't really an issue since the gun will be carried in a shoulder bag.

Pretty much anything made by Glock, Springfield Armory, CZ, SIG Sauer, Smith&Wesson, Ruger, or HK, will do. One thing we do not have a shortage of is high cap 9mm pistols.

CZ SP-01, if you don't mind the almost 5" barrel. I have a P-01, and love it. The SP-01 will give you (19+1, and the P-01 or PCR will give you 14+1. All have either steel or alloy frames.

Beretta PX4 has 20 round factory mags. And has standard 17 round mags as its usual mag capacity.

Beretta makes a 20 round mag for its Beretta 92/93 guns too.

The old Steyer GB had a 18 round mag as its standard mag.

Mec Gar offers mags in higher capacities than standard factory mags for many guns, such as 17 round flush fit for the SW 59 series.

I don't think any other manufacurers have factory 32 rounders like Glock however.

Check out Tanfoglio. I understand you can get a mag that will hold about 28 or 29 and not extend past the end of the magwell in 9mm.

Mags may run you $150 a pop, but if you could carry 56 rounds in two mags would it be worth it?

sp-01 is 19+1, if you like metal guns. the beretta 92 is also high capacity. for plastic guns, can't go wrong with a glock, XD, or M&P.

why so high cap? just practice and become a good shot. :) all that ammo just gets heavy after a while lol. what kind of shoulder bag are you using?

if i wanted to be comfortable carrying in a backpack and i knew five guys would chase me down with baseball bats and knives one day this month, i'd probably use my XD-9 subcompact with the full size magazine (16+1) so it weighs a bit less. if i knew exactly what day i i would be chased down, i'd pack the CZ SP-01 (19+1). if i was going to IWB with a spare mag, i'd pack the CZ-40b (12+1). if i was going to open carry and i knew the exact minute they were going to come for my butt... give me an AR with a red dot sight. :neener:

if i knew exactly what day i i would be chased down, i'd pack the CZ SP-01 (19+1).

If I knew what day I'd slip a folding a SBS into my back pack in addition to having a side arm. I understand your point though.

true. long guns > hand guns in most cases if you're expecting and alert.

if i'm going around town where i'm familiar and things are pretty chill, it's my xd subcompact with the short mag (10+1). if i'm going south of I-20 in atlanta, i bring my bigger CZ.

I personally like my P228 which I carry 17+1 in with an x grip adapter. Relativity Small compact. Dead nuts accurate and reliable.

Old school with a Browning Hi-Power. Can get 15 or 17 rd mags in addition to the stock 13 rounders, plus it's SA.

I love the Hi-Power but they function best with the 13 or 15 round mags. Plus I would never carry a cocked and locked gun in a shoulder bag as the OP intents.

This is asking for a ND. IMHO

i agree, cocked and locked in a bag is the cruise control towards an accidental discharge. you'd really want to have a holster that covers the trigger with a retention strap to keep it from coming out, if you plan on owning a double action gun with one in the chamber.

I edited my earlier post; the CZ SP-01 does indeed have a 19+1 round capacity. Thanks for the correction everyone.

If you want a REALLY hi-cap 9mm pistol and size/quality doesn't matter, then go for a Tec-9 or a Mac-10/11 type gangbanger special. Spray and pray:evil:

Size Doesn't Matter?!

What's it for? Just a carry gun? Woods/Trail? Critters & Peeps? SHTF gun?

Will it see much range time? Will its role evolve?

If it absolutely, positively has to work, every time, any of these +/- 33-Round Magazine:

G26
G19
G17
G17L
G34
