Besides Glock 19 and XD-6, what other 15+ round small frame 9mm are out there?

I'm looking for a subcompact pistol with 15+ round capacity in the magazine. I am willing to consider a single stack 9mm if aftermarket 15 round magazines are out there. Besides the Glock 19 and XD-6, what other 15+ round small frame 9mm are out there?

This pistol will be used for club level uspsa-ish competion and general plinking/target shooting by a 9 year old boy, who is currently shooting a full size 1911 in 45 ACP. The weight of the 1911 and limited magazine capacity are hindering him, especially on long stages.

Thanks for your help.

Sig P229 or P228 come with 13-round factory mags made my mec gar. now you can also buy 15 round mec-gar mags for the 229/228, or get the 17 round 226 mec gar mags and an x-adapter. Or you could even get the 229/228 with the SCP mags, a total count of 17 in those as well. 20 round mags are available as well.

I think the sig's single action trigger is a great trigger, one that has a simple lead stroke and a crisp break, something that might please the 9-year-old.

It's a small frame 9mm, but it's not a plastic frame 9mm.

Taurus 24/7 in 9mm flavor holds 17 shots. Its also a hair smaller then an XD-9, I think an M&P9 also holds 15 rounds in its mag.

The Glock 19, as I've written a few times, is pretty much unique or stand-alone as a compact-ish 9mm that still holds 15 rounds. You usually have to get a full-size gun to get that. You certainly can't go wrong with one, and in fact it might be better for the youngster with his smaller hands, due to its short trigger reach.

The CZ compact models come very close to this, with 14 rounds in the magazine. The steel-frame one can be "cocked and locked" for a shorter trigger reach, and even though it is a solid little chunk of steel it is still lighter than a 1911. The alloy-frame ones (P-01, PCR Compact) have to be shot DA.

Glock 26 with Glock 19 magazines in it. :D ;)

Hey, but seriously speaking: This is a versatile package here! Keep the 15 round mags inside, put an aftermarket sleeve over it, and there you go; then when you want good concealability, especially for ankle carry, use the stock 10 round magazines. ;)

The CZ P-01 is a great choice, at 14+1. Probably the CZ compact models, too, but I have no experience with those. For capacity, though, it's hard to beat the G26 for choices: 10, 15, 17, and 33 round magazines to choose from.

To further narrow the field, what can be had for about $300-$400?
