Bought my first revolver back in 1972. 3 Screw Super Blackhawk in .44 mag. Iffin I remember correctly it cost me about $129. Don't remember what the MSRP was back then, but I know it was considerably less than a Model 29.....kinda why I bought the Blackhawk. One only has to go to Davidson's or Bud's or any other online gun seller and see that many revolvers from Ruger have a MSRP price higher than a comparable S&W....yet the selling price is always much less. Again.....just marketing strategy, even if it has been going on for 30 years. Nuttin' wrong with it, and apparently it has been working for Ruger all these years. Just is what it is.
MSRP is just that, "suggested". Apparently some are closer to wholesale than others. S&W is more like 85-90% but that's just a cursory look at it. Every manufacturer, distributor and dealer has their own way of coming up with those numbers and I wouldn't call it marketing.

Looks like a CO2 powered pellet gun.

I'm sure it'll be a hit with Ruger loving competitors though.
Ruger needs an artistic director involved in gun design.

They should have scaled it as a real GP100. I mean, how many rounds does one need in one cylinder? Just load 'em up because you can, I guess. If semiauto ammo is taking over in revolvers, they should design a frame appropriate for the shorter length and stop with these goofy looking guns. I thought my S&W 625 Performance Center with the clown grips and short cylinder in an N Frame was bad enough. Good shooter though. Okay, so these moon clip, 8-round guns are competition-driven, but why pretend they are anything else? The real prizes here will go to the 45 Colt and 44 Magnum versions down the road, having little to do with gaming or moon clips.

It is built with the competitor in mind. 8 rounds is ideal, and puts you head-to-head with S&W shooters. anything less puts you at a disadvantage. the 9mm round is short and has the advantage of fast loading. 38/357 revolver shooters are using the 38 Short Colt brass for the same reason.

Gotta love those gamers.
