I think it looks off. Between the barrel (shroud thing) and the lcr looking cylinder. The under lug looks ok, the fiber optic sight isnt my cup of tea either. When someone here buys one ill be interested to hear how it shoots, but it wont be me.
Thanks for sharing.

Innovation. It seems that Ruger is not afraid to bring new items to the market. Not every new item will be accepted or appeal to everyone, But if a company is not willing to put new items on the market they will end up going nowhere.
There are some things I like about this new revolver, but there are some things I don’t like or care for.
Ruger will most likely get some feedback on this revolver that is good and bad.

It’s not the most beautiful thing in the world that’s for sure, but it’s nice to give Smith & Wesson a little competition in the 8 round 357 market.

Would like to see a rail on top for optics. Also, would like one on the bottom for a light but that is more of a defense thing than competition I know.

Love to see new stuff come out! Even it they don't always interest me.

I think it is gorgeous. I hate revolvers, but I would proudly own this one. Well done, Ruger.

Huh.

An even uglier Redhawk. Didn't know that was possible.

Good on em' for trying something different though. I can think of things I'd rather see from them but I'm always excited to see what new stuff they put out.

Even if it ya don't like it, look at it like this. If it is truly a Redhawk size frame:

It's a Redhawk size frame,a gp100/srh grip peg and lockwork, without the petruding barrel support of the srh....Maybe we can finally have a gun that looks like Bowens GP44 right from Ruger at a reasonable price!

Idk if it's really redhawk size ,however it does weigh 47oZ , so it very could well be considering all the holes in the cylinder and the shroud over the barrel has large cuts, and the gp100 grip peg is alot lighter than the full frame of a regular Redhawk. Not to mention the cylinder size to get 8 .357 cal holes.

Maybe the door has finally been opened!

Wish they’d whip up a 7 or 8 shot with ultra light materials such as the LCR or utilizing scandium like S&W. It would be great to see something like this at ~ 25 oz with a short barrel. I hope if I say this enough times they’ll make it...

It is a Super Redheak without the frame extension, like the Bowen GP44.

Not trying to be overly critical, I know it’s not for me. I’m glad to see some form of the GP44. I’d just like to see a big bore version without the LCR-inspired cylinder.

Gunny

That's what I was thinking; at least Ruger is willing to innovate and try new things. Some may work, others my not but at least they're bringing new products to the marketplace, seeing what happens, and go from there.

It looks like they took the shear elegant beauty of the LCR, and smeared it all over a SRH, in yet another attempt to make more money without building that new frame size between the GP and the Redhawk.
